This is a very vibrant forum! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Is there room here to discuss the use of Orgone Generators and Radionic Devices to augment the needed Life Force in Magickal Practices?

Greetings!
Yes! Radionics and Reich's Orgone Energy would be fine material to discuss here (though I might start by posting it in the pseudo-science section). This doesn't invalidate anyones views or feelings about the scienceworthiness of the subjects. I find it fascinating that at one time our US govnmt sought to discourage radionics, Good luck, I hope that you can spark some interesting ideas/discussions from the membership! radionics really belongs in magick forums. It is NOT science. The circuits make no electronics sense. Hence it took me 20 years after I had seen one to build one. I took one look and knew it couldn't work!

There has been siginificant advances in radionics since then.

It's not CM but definitely not science. Recent consensus is that it is more like a tool in CM although it has unique properties that said tools do NOT have.

Does anyone have any data as to the effectiveness of these machines?

I recently came across an article on yahoo that said scientist where using magnets to alleviate migraines. I'm not sure how closely this relates to radionics, nor did I read much on it. It's worth a look.

Another thing I noticed with plants is that they tend to grow faster around electrical wires. I have a single wire electrical fence which runs about 1 foot off the ground on parts of my propety. They grow like weeds near it.

about as much as the effectiveness of CM.

guess what makes chigen(chi generators) work? ability to visualize your goal. the other 2 things required in CM are taken care of. The thing generates subtle energy so no need for a ritual. The dials allow you to lock onto your target or trend (result) so no need for holding more than 1 thought in your head.

Although CM is not necessary to make it work, people who have practiced CM has the tools to make it work better.

Hi, Fiddler ~

Some of the original radionics gear was, in fact, electrical in
nature.

About thirty years ago, thanks to Harry Smith, I was able to
examine one of Henry Gross's old HRA sets, and it most
definitely generated radio waves.

These early radionics systems preceded the more diagrammatic
type of radionic device, which is the sort of gizmo that most folks
have become familiar with over the years. These may incorporate
< for example > some dials affixed to an otherwise empty box.

Many of the original radionic devices were simple radio sets
making use of the Earth's own ambient natural radio background,
and the effects they exploited were made use of by some of the
engineers that developed the first over-the-horizon radar
equipment - such as Franklin, Rota, and Maby.

To read further on these early *electronic* devices, see the
*Proceedings of the Scientific & Technical Congress of Radionics
and Radiesthesia*, 1950, and Solco Tromp's *Psychical Physics:
A Scientific Analysis of Dowsing, Radiesthesia and Kindred Divining
Phenomena*, 1949.

So, on radionic devices there is no real eletrical wiring, and the dials can often attach to nothing? What is it then? It seems like it is just some sort of prop then (following a chaos magic principle). Is that right?

One of my friends let me try out her newly purchased qi generator. It required me to lie down on the floor and place my feet on top of indentations on the machine. When it was turned on, the machine caused my feet and legs to swivel rhythmically What I discovered that it did was to cause me to breath harder as if exercising, but with the machine doing the work. The result was hyper-oxygenization This brought a certain light headedness that people seem to perceive as increased qi flow . I know what qi feels like and that wasn't it..

I worked for about 10 years in a Holistic Centre I remember helping to clean up the basement and finding a strange device looking somewhat like a radio. It was a radionics device. There were a couple of dials on the outside but inside there was little or no electronics. I asked the director about it afterwards and he told me what it was. I asked if it worked. Understand that the director was a very gifted therapist and I generally trust his judgement. He said that he had used it for some years with good success. I did read up on it after talking to the director, and while I don't recall the theory behind it, it made sense. Wish I could add more.

Hi, Seronleithian ~

Yes, many of the contemporary radionic devices
that I am aware of contain no real electrical wiring
or circuitry, and the dials often attach to nothing.

I would say that they are little more than props, or
very expensive toys.

The earlier devices, on the other hand, and several
of the more advanced instruments developed by,
for instance, Drs. Beck and Puharich, are quite
authentic.
