To deal with the 50 names in thier full power and glory U must first pass the 1st 6 gates up to Lord Marduk. However U can call the 50 names with great effect even if U have never walked a single gate. Just use Simon's spell bok method. It workds beautifully for everyone.

Thanks. I really would like to try out the Simonicon system soon, but I will have to wait. I usually work with the Goetia and am currently working with one of those beings on a project at the moment. It's not that I think the beings will clash, I just think I better stick to one spirit at a time to keep better records of results with less variables. Again thank you for the reply.

My experience may not be typical, but I had done no magickal work other than card reading when I began using the Necronomicon. I did not even know that the word "Necronomicon" was associated with H.P. Lovecraft until years later. The only reason I chose to try the Necronomicon is that it looked like a plausible system to me, and the only reason I continue to use it is that it works for me.

I would say, wait until you feel you are ready. Prepare by reading up on the background of the necronomicon. Learn about the gods and there ways. Read the book a hundred times and makes sure you are ready to lay your soul on the line. That sounds heavy but it is true.

I´m fairly new to working with the Simon Necronomicon, having worked before on more traditional qaballah pathworkings. Sorry if I´m asking an idiot question, but I couldn´t find an answer in any of the other posts here.

In the Book of the Entrance, it says that you can work inside, as long as the ceiling is free from all hanging. However in the Conjuration of the Watcher, it says that the sword must be struck into the ground. Assuming you don´t have an earthen floor, could this be done inside? Thanks

I prefusre working outside, the stars and air will help. But If you do work inside use something large like a bin filt with earth to put the sword in. I work on the top of my roof, and I made kind of a sandbox where my altar is and where I can put my sword in the ground.

Yes, just get a large enough pot full of earth to struck your sword in it.

Kinjo is right. Actually SImon himself reccomends city dwellers to use a pot of dirt. If you have a sword sharp enough you can also stab it into wood. The thrusting with force is a thing that helps the mind in the early callings of the Bandar.

I just ordered a really nice Katana and to keep it sharp when it gets here I do not plan to stab it into dirt or wood which would dull the blade. I plan to lightly tap it on my altar. It is a mental thing. It is also contact with the Earth which seems to ground things. Wood is earth so the altar is an acceptable substitute.

However the sword is supposed to stand erect and not to be touched until the ritual is over. Especilly not to be touched with the left hand which is an effective means of banishing Bandar. So if you do not want to damage a sword then tap the altar and slide the blade behind the altar between it and the wall so that the hilt catches on the altars surface.

Or if you have a machete for example which you do not particularly care about damaging then definitely stab it hard into something.

Another thing you can make is a small stand with a groove in the middle so you can stick the sword thru it and it will stand up straight.

recently i charged and launched a sigil that someone on a message board had created

the sigil and design were beautiful

but after i charged it i looked closely and saw there was an image in the background that looked like a seal not a sigil

i was nervous at first but i trusted the person because i have read alot of their posts

but i think launching that sigil was one of the reasons for my life going in a very intense spiral

and it did look like a seal from the Necronomicon


is banishing a good way of getting rid of the energies?

i have read the Necronomicon

i didn't want to work in it

so i'm not familiar anymore with the seals and names

Dip the seal in salt water and let it dry then burn it. Bury the ashes and do some internal cleansing such as the MP or Solar Meditation.

Can you scan the sigil and post it so we can get a look at what is in the background? It might be prudent to try and dechipher that persons intent befor destroying it.

The first thing you want to do is summon the Watcher. You could also try some exorcisms or any of the spells in the Maklu text. Wait at least 1 moon after summoning your Bandar before attempting a gate.

A sword for Bandar and a dagger of calling I feel are absoublutely necessary. I had someone sew me a Frontlet of calling and it definitely has some magick properties. The frontlet is very benefical.

After reading the book a few times try some of the exorcisms from the Maklu Text. As you say the exorcisms imagine bad things leaving your life. Imagine the future in the way you would like to see the future. Believe that such things are possible.

Like frater Smasher said you need to call your Bandar first that is the primary help for the priest of Enki. The Bandar will be your best friend, teacher, protector, and guide to work with the Necronomicon. But before you call him you need to read the book several times to understand and relate everything on the book. After you are familiar on how to call your Bandar you need to get his tools (Sword, Bowl, and other instrument if the budget permits for the operations) I myself bought a machete for his sword and it cost me lest than 7 bucks, the bowl cost me lest than 7 bucks all including taxes. Now about the crown and the front tablet of calling I will improvise a little. I am going to home depot to see if i can get like a square foot of cooper (it doesn't have to be thick) to do the crown and the frontlet tablet of calling. If I don't find what I am looking for I might draw the Anu star on my forehead and sew the frontlet tablet of calling in front of the robe or shirt. Be creative, sometimes the spirits like more is the priest is creative, cause this put something of yourself in the workings with them.

So I into magick for about one month, and am still doing my exercises to get started with some serious stuff in magick. So i wanna know how advance shuld I get before starting with it. The funny thing is that it's the necronomicon that interested me into magick. So basicly i wanna know what is the purpouse of it and when can i start with it. Oh, yeah is this white, black, gray or anyother kind of magick?

Classifying Magick into black and white categories can be misleading, I would call the work with these Necronomicon spirits in relation to Marduk something more like Order Magick. You should meditate for a while and exercise the mind as well as the spirit and connection with the divine and arcane both before you go conjuring up Necronomicon spirits. Read about it and gather knowledge, try and connect with these forces and get to know them on a simple level before using them in casting.

Simons Necronomicon is actually a handbook for priests to gain power over demons and forces which wish to destroy this world. It seems to be a strange place to find the light but nonetheless it is not evil. However some groups such as Satan worshipers and individuals do use it as they see fit. I can not gauge their sucess rate in working a dark path with it as I have nothing to measure. I can say that years ago when I was using it for evil purposes it did bite me on the buttocks quite severely. Simon warns that here are blinds in place to protect the system from abuse and I believe it from my own experience. I have seen a lot of good accomplished through the book. I also know that it did work quite well for me when I was using it for evil purposes. I would advise it for a Left Hand Path as another system might prove less punishing.

It is warned that its not a text for noobs. That you should have a strong occult base before working with it. However I have seen many a noob pick it up and immediately get good results. I would recommend reading it at least three times before trying to work with it. We have a good Necronomicon forum here on SM which should give you all the info you need to work with the system safely and effectively.

I have been Practicing Ceremonial Magick for a number of years. My Main Magickal Practices center in the Golden Dawn and Thelemic Magick. I have also in the past year been studying Enochian Magick according to the Golden Dawn tradition taken from Dee's Workings.

I have possessed a copy of the Necronomicon, and the Necronomicon Spell Book for a number of years, yet, was somewhat hesitant to attempt it's workings since it deals with the Gates of the Ancient Ones which are (if I understand correctly) Chaotic Entities whose main goal is to reclaim the Earth and destroy or enslave Mankind. I realize that according to the Necronomicon those called to use the Magick contained within its pages are called to be Guardians of the Gates throughout the ages.

However, I have read of Dr. John dee's Enochian System and even been Initiated into the Zelator Grade of an Order using the Enochian Tablets. My question is this; Are the Outer Gates of the Spirits of the Azonei the same Gates as referred to in Dr. John Dee's Enochian Callings.

Thanks for any assistance you may offer in clarifying this subject for me.

I compare the 7 planetary gates to the realms accesed through the tree of life. <Actually there are 3 more spheres which are not mentioned in the book> Ganzir is like the qlippoth. The Gates of the ancient ones are the gates to the outside and no formula is given to access them. Hope this helps.

The Ancient Ones are UNCREATION as far as I come to understand. We are in the "balloon" of CREATION whereas the Ancient ONes are outside of that balloon. They are universe beyond Ain in my opinion and are neither good nor evil--they just are where nothing is and thats how they want it, for the universe was nothing at one time and they want it to return to that once more. As far as the Qliphoth, I see that as the polar opposite of the Sephiroth and the Abyss is where the two sides intertwine and really become one. But upon the Qliphothic side the vertigo inducing free fall can lead one to contact w/ the Ancient Ones for it is said in Hell a gate to the Outside exists....but Im sure it is heavily guarded. Hope that clears up any questions for ya....

Based on my experience, I think that if you are sincere and work carefully, you can have good results with it. If I had to classify it, I would call it gray magick, but as previously stated, it doesn't really lend itself to that kind of categorization.

Ok, I hope that you guys can make some stuff clear for me. I'm about to start with the book of 50 Names. For the first time. Now I want to know a few things before I start:

1. Do I need to summon Bandar?
2. What kind of 'tools' do I need to have (dager, wand or is my emty hand enugh) to evokate the spirits?
3. What do I have to do before evoking the spirit (i'll start with Lugalugga, since he is patient, and is a teacher-since I'm new to magick, and the ceremonial magick so I hope that he can help me with that, then i intend to try with Lugalanna), what kind of banishing shuld I use? Will the Hexagram ritual do any good? If so witch planet shuld I envoke and banish?
4. Some of you recomended a black mirror to develop astral sences. Well what is this balck mirror, where can I buy one (or can I make one)?
5. WhaT offerings shuld I make to the spirit? when shuld I 'give' the offering to it at the begining, during the ritual, or after the ritual.


Well that's it for now. I'll think on some other stuff that is unclear to me and get back to ya.

If I may be so bold. I hate to ask it but have you acquired the book either through the SM website or your local bookstore? If you have it read it. It lists all the tools you'll need. Now you can also wing it too. But that could prove dangerous. Please understand. I'm not trying to be rude, just helpful. There are 2 main methods you can utilize the system that I know of.
1) the Ceremonial Magician
2) the Priest of Enki or which ever Necronomicom deity you serve(there are many).

If you choose to follow the system via method 1) then use what the book gives you and if you want to follow it from a chaos magician perspective then you need to be cautious but you have more freedom and can adapt the methods within the texts anyway you feel is necessary. Just be aware and know what your doing. Many have had no results, or results that go way beyond what they've asked for good and bad.

If you choose method 2) The book can help you too, and there are even groups that can help you out as well. But as a Priest or Priestess expect to think outside the box( after all you'll be dealing with Ancient Deities that may need updated rituals to reflect the times). That is NOT a bad thing so long as your follow the wishes of your patron God or Goddess. Also if you choose method 2) there are other resources on the web as well as the Necronomicom itself that can help you connect with which ever Divine force you wish to connect with.

Also whenever your in doubt ask. After all there is no such thing as a stupid question. Good Luck on your journey.

Ok, you just did two things: told me everything and nothing. Yes I do have the Necronomicon, and the spell book (all though I think there are some pages missing but never mind that). I would want to try the book as a ceremonial magickian before and than, maybe one thay become a priest. So the questition still remains : do I have to have all the tools to deal with the 50 names or are they just simbols that I can do without? And all the above questitions still remain open. I still have much to learn on the fields of magick since I'm into it for about a month or so. I have worked with sigils so far, and would like to try with something else. So I'm in the phase of experimenting with magick - still trying to finde my self in it. Actually I'm thinking of sorcery, or some thing similar. So please advise me on the necronomicon, for I am only a beginner at magick. As I seen Ashnook is quite expirienced with the book, also seen some of his videos and they are pretty good. 1) For 50 names callings Bandar is not neccessary in the beginnings

2)All you need is paper, pen, candles, will and concentration

3)Get centered and calm (using any meditation method u can find)--stare at the seal and think of nothing else but the seal.

4)Buy a 5x10 inch picture frame--spray paint the glass on the inside black--walah--u got a magick mirror. I never use one myself but I can see how it would help.

5) No offereings are required but it isnt a bad idea to show ur good intentions in some way---be creative --they know ur inner thoguhts so if ur heart is true u should be ok.

Ok, tnx. But when do I give the sacrifice? before, after or during the ritual? What do you meen no need t summon Bandar at first? does anybody know if any of the teachers are patient and that will not atack? or are they all like that.
