Greetings!

Thanks to the moderator for giving me this opportunity to discuss my new book "Secrets of the Magickal Grimoires." You can learn more at the book's homepage:

http://kheph777.tripod.com/indexsecrets.html

Briefly, the book is both an historical *and* practical overview of the medieval Solomonic tradition. The first part focuses on the history- tracing the development of religion and magick throughout Western history and culminating in the medieval grimoires. I compare the grimoires to older pagan and shamanic systems- presenting the grimoire wizard as urban shaman. The second part is entirely practical- teaching magickal timing, the making of Solomonic tools, establishment of ritual space, purifications and preparations, making invocations and conjurations, creating talismans and sigils, magickal images, Angelic and spirit evocation and TONS more.

At the webiste, you can read the first chapter of the book. There is also an "extra chapter" called "Modern Solomonic Magick", which I have published in the Journal of the Western Mystery Tradition:

http://www.jwmt.org/v1n10/modern.html

I'm also working on a companion grimoire to go with the book. It is just a supplimental piece that gathers the most practical material from the book and presents it as a cohesive system. I'll be uploading that to the files section of the Solomonic Yahoo Group. (Perhaps the moderator of Sacred Magick will put it in the archives here as well?)

I would LOVE to hear some discussion about "Secrets...", reviews, etc. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Was the companion grimoire ever completed?

Hey Nero!

Well, the original idea was to create a simple grimoire composed of the practical bits of "Secrets..." and offer it as a free PDF. But it fizzled before I finished it, as it seemed too redundant.

Lately, though, I've been putting together ideas for another "Secrets..." book, this one a complete grimoire and course for the working Solomonic mage.

How close will it resemble Waite's Complete Grimoire?

This is an excellent book Aaron! Hats off to you for offering a valuable resource for us occultists. I can't seem to put this book down, I'm constantly refering to it and re-reading various chapters.

This book really opened my eyes to a deeper and more meaningful understanding of the light in which the grimmoirs should be read. I also love how it sumarises and clarifies various techniques, like the 9 day solomonic preparatory period, the solomonic bath and the magical use of the psalms, to name a few.

I highly suggest it to anyone who hasn't read it yet, whether beginer or advanced.

This is an invaluable addition to my book shelf!

It's refreshing to see an occult writer producing new material rather than re-hashing stuff that's been written over and over again.

Ave

Aaron, I completely devoured your book since I've had it in my possession. Solomonic Magick has been my interest for the past couple of years and this book was simply amazing. It is what "The Book Of Black Magic" should have been. (I had been singing such praises of your book on Occultforums that I was mistaken for being you in disguise).

I had followed your old threads on the Abramelin Operation in the past and was quite surprised to hear a book had been published by you (loved that series, though I have still not yet pursued the operation).

Anyways, just wanted to say great job and keep up the good work I will be looking forward to your next volume.

Konx Om Pax
