Well, what a fun (but uneventful) night!

Background: I have NO experience in magic, in any form, but for the past 6 months have been listening to the gateway experience, I'm nearly through to the end of the 3rd set (if you know what that is, then you'ld know its pretty strange). About the only strange thing thats ever happened to me was when I was with a friend walking down a road, in the middle of the night. *someone* decided to show his face in the clouds...... I could feel him looking down on me, and it had me worried, because I KNEW no one was behind me, but he was up there.... very creepy stuff!

I've been getting feelings (altho not now for some reason). Everytime I did my tapes, whenever I started to say my affimation, I felt like a lot of static electricity was flowing through me, but it started from the base of my spine. it happened quite a lot.

Yesterday, I felt like something bigger, and of course I saw the goetia on my shelf. I should also mention that this came after listening to theama coast to coast, ep14 (about the goetia, of course), and I decided that I wanted to meet one, see if he could help my financial situation. Admitedly I just want money. I have enough, just, but I want a LOT more. Theres a 33 million dollar lotto draw, and I thought "PERFECT! lets see if I can finally break out of this money problem, and be able to concentrate on magic!", So I felt that dantalion might help (yes, yes, it doesnt say anything about him seeing into the future, but then again, they can always do other things....). I knew from the temple of dantalion that he liked jasmine, so I brought some jasmine incence, scribbled his sigil onto a piece of paper, then wrote a note below it:

After I lit the incence, I could feel the electricity flow through me. I thought that it was him, checking it out. I knew he would at least appreaciate the fact I attempted to please him with jasmine.... and things coiuld have goten much worse latter!

Ok, so when I went to bed, I remember reading someone posting that if you put his sigil (or any of them) under your pillow, you'll find out for yourself how real they are. So, I did so and went to sleep.

I do recall having a dream, but it seemed like it was real, so I didnt click, when it happened. but all I remember was that someone I knew (I cant recall the face) said he wanted my pillow(I had his sigil on the paper, and in the pillowcase). I dont know if I gave him the pillow, but he got it eitherway. He pulled the pillowcase off, pulling at the pillow, and then, the sigil fell to the ground and I thought "Phew, thank god he never saw that sigil, cause I'm still trying to contact dantalion!"

I woke up, and it took me a while to remember that I had a dream. But it worries me. I suspect that what dantalion (I dont think it was just a dream with a random person in it) was trying to tell me is stop being cheap, If I want to contact him, use the proper sigil on TIN! He could have been a lot nastier, considering!

which brings up another question. of the people who have contacted him, did you use a flattened out tin can for the sigil? should I go to the scrap metal dealer and try to find a small ammount of tin??

Tin's not hard to come by. You can find it at any craft store. They sell thin sheets for tin punching, as well as the tools to shape and trim it. Ask at someplace like Michael's.

Oops, my bad. I was talking to my gf, and figured that out a few minutes ago :s , but I went and brought some copper too. So I have that.

taping with a screwdriver? I guess I could do that..... wish there was an easier way.... would felt tip pens be too little??

You don't actually have to use the metal. You can use leather, for example. I do.

Metal is ideal if you're going to for a full blown conjuration, with all the tools and such. The metal seal in that case would then add to the manifestation and all that.

Since he/she is a venusian spirit, I don't think there is much to worry about agression. I've never had any problems with a duke. A prince or king, on the other hand, is a little more special...

Just make sure to draw the pentagram of Solomon in the back. I've had some bad experiences because I thought it was "rude" to put it on there. I use permanent marker in the appropriate color for the seal (for dukes it would be green) and then spray a clear coat of sealant on it, front and back. That way the ink won't rub off on your pillow or with your drool (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bigwink.gif)

On a side note, I tried to do a blackened pictureframe evocation, and.... well..... I didnt use ANYTHING from the goetia (appart from come in good form). I tried to use the system I got from the gateway experience. The way I figured is that so long as you change the way your perceiving the world, it just might work. In short, NO! About the only thing I heard was two clicks in my right ear, and what seemed to be a fleeting picture of orobus (well, a horses face). but nothing more. what made it hard was the tv (I didnt tell her to turn it down) and the neighbours (it is new years eve tho :S)

Hell, that's a lot more than some people get after repeated tries. Keep at it, just next time, keep the distractions to a minimum. Turn off the TV, take the phone off the hook, and lock the door if necessary.

In my opinion, the spirits are much more likely to make your way in your dreams than reality. For the mystic this can prove invaluable, for the sorceror this will mean that your methods are working but need alot more energy. Both lead to one, so I wish your blessings.

Thanks. Actually, I've been doing a lot of thinking about this problem, and their seems to be two different schools of thought about it. The first is "follow the book", and the other says you can do it anywhere, anytime (I guess these people are quite powerful).

I have been finding myself quite drained, and I cant quite figure out why. I feel like I peeked, powerwise, around september, and everything since then hasnt been too powerful. I have been grounding myself more than meditating (and I havent medidated in three weeks since then) but when I do, I still get some "random" energy (I suspect its someone, gardian or otherwise) energuising me. The last time, I felt like the energy tried to exit me in an upwards direction (I was lying down for it). More questions than answers I'm affraid. But thanks, it all means a lot for me

A few questions:
What sort of entities have you contacted recently? This is not at all limited to goetic spirits - to what or whom have you been giving attention to? This could include god forms, objects, even your instructors.

What do you mean when you say you are grounding? When I use that term I mean it to say that I am balancing my energy to match my surroundings.

To what do you attribute upwardness?

OK. Entities : There seems to be one (I have only contacted datalion, and have BEEN contacted by this one! so thats two, this year. and only one other, who I dont know, but just appeared in the sky. never got anything out of him) that came just out of the blue. that one I have discribed. I dont belong to any religious group, or believe in any godform (too much).

and as for grounding? the only thing I do is draw three rings around me (back to front, left to right, and from infront of my eyes, all the way around my head), and then burn (red, burning till its white/blue). and try to ground by thinking of rootes growing upder me, and having the energy balance. I've also tried and ask a nearby spirit to take away the energy from my left leg (it seems to build up there). Its a bit vampirist, but it did seem to work.

Also, for the upwardness..... when it came last, I felt all this new energy in my body.... and it left going upwards. It was strange, it was like it left like it was a flame. thats the best way to describe it. it wasnt a hot, red energy or anything, but it felt like it wanted to leave in that way
