Hi all, I'm a newbie to this forum and to chaos magick. From what I read, statement of intention usually goes like...

"This is my wish to..."

I wonder if it's also OK to put it like...

"I thank the universe (or keyword of your choice) for giving me / bringing to me / sending me / helping me accomplish..."

The whole idea behind this is to be grateful in advance and be certain that what we are asking for is coming to us. I read that gratefulness is the key to speed up manifestation. Do you guys think it also applies to sigil magick? Thanks. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

If you say "it is your wish that ...", you're placing your intention in the future -- as opposed to right NOW.

If you want something to happen NOW, state it in the present tense ("I am NOW ...", "I NOW have...", etc.) Act as if what you want has already happened (Want a new car? Go test-drive it. Looking for a new home? Practice writing your new address.)

When i create and charge sigils, i usually express my intended desire as fact in the present tense. The idea of showing thanks beforehand is interesting though. You should try it out and if it works, it works. Why not give it and post the results? Good luck!

Thank you for your advice. You are right, phrasing the intention in the present tense is the way to go. When I read the "this is my wish" thing I had my doubts. Thanks so much for clearing that up for me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Yeah, I will. I am trying to figure out a way to do a result comparison between the two kinds of expression, to see which one is more rapid in manifestation. Any idea? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

It all depends ...

There are times when certain things have to happen in a specific sequence in order for your intention to manifest (If you were building a house, would you install the roof prior to pouring the foundation and erecting the framework?)

"I am filled with the joy of the bountiful universe providing me with...."

"Praise and thanksgivings for my reception of ...."

"The power of the All Shine through my ability to ...."

"My Will is ...."

or "....." and give thanks later.

be careful, too wordy of statements make for awkward sigil construction.
