Hey kids.
I've been meaning to sign up here for a while. My best friend, Brian, (Vagrant Dreamer on the site) is on here all the time.
My name's Marcus, but you can call me Demi, since it's a shorter easier way to say my impossible to pronounce screen name.
I'm twenty and a Leo.
In September I'll be starting school to become a Yoga Instructor.
I love playing the guitar and enjoy being exposed to different philosophies about meta-physics.
I'm not religious myself, but I love different religious iconographies and am fascinated by the different world religions.
I guess that's all there is to say at the moment.
Hopefully you'll see me around these forums.

Hi!

What kind of yoga will you be learning?

I ask because I've noticed that most yoga practice around these parts seems to focus on meditation only, rather than other aspects like yogasana. I mostly practice ashtanga and power yoga.

I'll be doing Hatha Yoga at the Integral Institute. I am surprised to hear that the places you see are focused entirely on meditation. It is a central part of Yoga, but the Asanas are vital in preparation for meditation, as well as for toning internal organs, balancing the bodies systems, stimulating clean blood flow and breaking up toxins, etc.

I chose Integral because the focus is 60% Asanas and the rest is on Anatomy, philosophy, meditation and even Sanskrit Study.

To be fair, I haven't been on these forums too long, so maybe there is discussion I haven't seen that goes beyond the yoga of concentration. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

But I'm active on a yoga forum, and they cover the whole gamut.

Good luck with your studies.
