We have a nail in the door step to the living room that just keeps popping up the nails beside is not affected i have nailed it in around 10 times already and nailed in 1 on each side to verify its not the board moving.
I meen wtf a nail?
I know they move over the years and so but whitin 25 minutes max it pops up again slowly thou as its being pulled..

Can you record a video of the occurrence & upload it to youtube (or some other site)? There's all sorts of things a camera can pick up that the human eye can miss (lamentably vice versa). It'd at least make for some interesting conversation material.

Otherwise I'd say experiment! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) Is it the nail? The hole? Air pressure? Something else?
Have you tried...
  • different nails of the same size & shape, but different materials?
  • a screw instead?
  • nailing that particular nail somewhere else?
  • etching something on top of the nail or around the hole?

At my families old cabin there was this old porch on the front that had been there since the house was first built in like 1920. So it was old. We noticed some the nails were comming loose and had to hammer them back in. What was happening was the nails were loosing their grip and people walking across it generated enough force to cause some of the nails to start to slip out of their place. Eventually we just tore it down and built a whole new porch. But what is sound like to me is that for whatever reason this one nail is in a piece of old wood, probably has been there for a long time and its just in need of being replaced.

What I would do is drive the nail with a hammer back in place. Then jump around, stomp your foot walk by it alot and see if you can't make it come back out. My guess is the more commotion you create the faster that nail will pop back out. If that doesn't explain it take out the old nail and try driving a new one in the same place as the first. If this new nail also comes out then you pretty much know its not the nail, its the wood. Again if the wood is old it'll warp and become more pliable, meaning that if you apply enough force to it, it can cause nails to come out. So that just means you need to replace the wood.

If you want to prove the nail is magickal I would totally replace the old wood with new and use that same old nail. If comes out then, then thats something interesting.

Of course if you don't want to deal with this mysterious nail altogether try replacing it with a screw. Now if THAT pops out then you KNOW some freaky mojo is a foot! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

well the wood and nail is only a a year old lol and yes we have stomped around it but anyways gonna try a new nail. and after that a screw.
the things is its just so damm funny that that nail is popping out even thou its 2 nails on each side new. thou i strongly belive there is some natural explanation.
well maybe ( (IMG:style_emoticons/default/insane.gif) ) the nail is growing like a mushroom hehhe well i am going to beat this nail before anybody else gets hurt (IMG:style_emoticons/default/knuppel2.gif)

( edit few minutes later) now i just took another look and the 2 other nails have been coming out also well i pulled everything out now and screwed it in place

You know there is the possibility that some fungus is growing inside the hole made by the nail and that as it grows it pushes the nail out.

i've never known fungus to grow that fast! However, maybe its magnetism? Whats beneath the floor board? and is the nail being forced in the center? quality control could of messed up the wood surface of the board...it could be aslant, and weight from either end would push the nail in the center upwards. Or maybe you just have really clever mice! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif)

if i were you, i would hammer the nail into a different location on the floor. Who knows? maybe the piece of wood is haunted? look at the wood very closely! do you see any faces? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/weird_thread.gif) Well for the fungus part we have some sort of wierd mushrooms growing in our boiler room..(they look kinda like brown goblin ears lol)
They pop up over night. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/zap.gif)
but as for the nail its now banged in a closet
and doing fine. So not the nail but to the intresting part the screws are also coming out but not as much just a little.
But i will see tomorrow i tightened them now.
But if they still come out i will rip that door step out and make fire wood out of it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/butcher.gif)

Thats what I would do. But it is kinda creepy about the screws comming out too. Maybe you should stick a cammera by it and see if something paranormal happens before you make firewood. If the wood is fairly new the problem might be the quality. Like the difference from partical board and solid oak or ply wood.
