finished thankfully with dmt

looking for the next gnosis trigger and somebody suggested nde, but that's a bit stiff if you don't really need to die, and that turned my attention to panic attacks, where you only *think* that you're going to die

can a panic attack be emotionally triggered?

is it close enough to a nde to bring the gnosis of a nde?

we shall see if it can be done

using the emotional 'fear monster' again - letting the fear monster out of the cage like this is very cathartic actually, just getting it back in the cage is sometimes a bit difficult

we shall see what we shall see

if you have gone down this path before, please post your experiences, both good and bad

I have panic attacks a lot. Sometimes they are triggered by fear, and then it feeds on itself; but that sounds like what you were doing before. Usually I just start feeling nervous, then nervous about something in particular, then it turns to... well, it's like being under a giant slowly falling building. Everything seems terrorlicious.

I don't think it's very close to an NDE. At least, my perception doesn't seem noticeably different, except the whole "everything-is-horrifying" thing. It has actually provided some benefits because all I can do is contemplate fear when it's happening, but that's getting old.

i have experienced panic attacks and yes it can be triggered...its not very fun though and you do not think logically.
drinking loads of caffeine, sleep deprivation, and repetitive unresolved emotional stress will get you there...but i never
tried to induce it on purpose. and once you get one, i'd be careful not to trigger a whole slew of them; i have noticed
people do not generally get a single attack, but they have a propensity for it.

be careful not to open a door you can't close.

and yes, i have noticed a significant rise in spiritual energy following the attack (i astral project more readily when I'm under high level of stress and the catharsis is SOO good if you can only get over your shell shock)...but never during.

good luck

I have had a few panic attacks. My feeling is that it was , well, from (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush2.gif) ...Sigma Epsilon Tau? Not really sure.. But, it was the general feeling. I avoid labels, but, I like to think I am a "good guy". But, I also know that 'good' and 'evil' are relatively subjective definitions of what we like or dislike.
The really interesting thing about it all was that it forced me to "check myself, before I wreck myself".
¿tu sabe? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/help.gif)

maybe try sleep dep for 4/5 days.

I think the longest someone went was 14 days, however, a lot of the people that go that far end up quite mad and don't ever fully recover getting constant visual/auditory hallucinations after.

far safer to neck 5/600 liberty caps imo.

I have personally found sleep deprivation and fasting to be quite an effective method of raising "majickal" awareness. Much safer than toxin induced misinterpretation of data. Was it Giurdjef/Ouspensky who said one only needs about 15 mins of sleep every 24 hrs.?
Cheaper than having to buy toxins and better than dealing with some of the creepy folks you have to go to in order to find it. And,...the best part,... it's legal. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/busted_cop.gif)

Esoterica,
You know. I re-read this post. My previous answers were influenced by the other answers. In light of my first post in response, however,.. invoke SET.Seriously.

How is it going anyway? any luck yet?

i'm done with the panic attack work - too heavy for me to lift but once, but i did it

panic attack (as gnosis inducer) visions:

water is life - dry desert impregnated by the nile, with fertility, and the rise of the land

probation (as a trial or test of commitment)

"Great and marvellous are thy works, Lord God Almighty; just and true are thy ways, thou King of saints.”

note: i am not a religious zealot or whatever, and all of this bible stuff is a shock to me especially since the gnosis of the ancients i am after is almost anti-jehovah (before the extension of the tetragrammation)

this gnosis achieved by physical methods is far more lucid and intense and to-the-point as the everyday gnosis that, say, a magician attunes themselves to

only a few more methods left to play with - trying to stay away from pain lol

Confronting a fear (snakes, heights, [death], etc) - that's where we are now - can be used to mind-produce or crank out glandular secretions, like dmt, or to produce panic attack which is similar to near-death experience

Spinning (til you puke?) - whirling dervish (wormhole dance) - bloody mary - the craft

Holding it as long as you possibly can before going to the bathroom - lol. ok

Staring into a strobe light - is this like triggering epilepsy? - video game epileptic fit?

Holding your breath - ok, sounds interesting - didn't the monks of tibet call this a 'voyage' around the body - a shorter mini-voyage was 40 seconds (or heartbeats) and a full voyage was 3 minutes or so?

Hunger and/or thirst (fasting) - how about gluttony and drunken stupor?

Rollercoasters / movement (works best if you keep your eyes shut) - like riding in a car half-asleep?

Sleep deprivation (aim for five days or more for best results) - sounds like fun

Jumping through a bonfire - interesting

the past:

Meditation - btdt, many times - disconnecting to the sunder plane and staying in
the void is my safety zone if investigating any of these other methods get too intense - again, the intensity of the visions produced by physical means (between a rock and a hard place) - also a good place to analyse the physically produced visions

Hyperventilation - aka holotropic breathwork - btdt too - interesting but nothing new - intermittent visions that don't last cause you can't stay in that state too long

Pharm (or mind-produced pharm) - hallucinogenics, and glandular secretions - dmt is still the best

Creating artwork or automatic writing - well, duh

Listening to music Really Really Really loudly (especially ambient music) - do that already

Sensory deprivation - the black pool behind my eyes - btdt - rhin: http://esotericha.blogspot.com/2009/05/rhi...l-attitude.html

Listening to white noise until it’s no longer white noise - bdtd - 5steps to freedom: http://esotericha.blogspot.com/2009/05/5-s...to-freedom.html

Sitting on a powerpoint (most graveyards, incidentally, are powerpoints) - interesting, but btdt, like the gates and telluric energy

Blood rush to head (standing on your head or hanging from your feet) - nope, like running, not going there as this body ain't mine

Shamanic body postures / yoga (see the works of Belinda Gore and Felicitas Goodman), btdt, also shaolin kung-fu, maintain the posture til the incense burns out (may be hours)

Sacraficing something you value - btdt - what the church has perverted - the gift of honor

Gazing (crystal balls, pools, mirrors, a random spot on the wall) - btdt - clay holden is still a god

Lucid Dreaming - btdt for years - we are exploring the physical methods

Emoting (acting out) - duh

Dancing - duh

Lighting yourself on fire (WD40 or a rubbing alcohol and water mixture) - don't think so, not today - self-immolation went out with the 60's
