Hello all,
In the Goetia the blood of a Black Cock that has never trode a hen is used in the creation of the secret seal of solomon. I have 34 Black frizzle roosters that I need to cull. The roosters are totally black, not a lick of white on their feathers and their beaks are black as well. I need to cull from 3-4 of these roosters and I am set on using their blood. I am looking for a way to make the blood last longer. Is it possible to dehydrate the blood and then rehydrate for later use or even freeze it and reuse it? The Black frizzle is a much sought after bird some great information can be found on this link.http://www.luckymojo.com/blackhens.html
Thanks,
Kennith

Theoretically...

Crowley mentions (somewhere) that blood and animal flesh looses its "vitality," which I take to mean as the vital force "prana," if it is allowed to sit and is not used shortly after it is taken. But I don't know from personal experience.

Many experienced magicians make serious prohibitions to engaging in any sort of animal blood magick, that it is "black magick" or whatnot, and you should be aware of this. I make no judgments, not being expert.

You should also be aware that ritual animal sacrifice is illegal in some states, and getting arrested for doing it will make you look bad (imagine having to report that to future employers!). Plus, any media attention generated from this kind of activity will make ALL occultists look bad, whether they approve of blood magick or not, so be aware of this responsibility as well-- at least if you want to have friends in the occult community!

"It sometimes strikes me that the whole of science is a piece of impudence; that nature can afford to ignore our impertinent interference. If our monkey mischief should ever reach the point of blowing up the earth by decomposing an atom, and even annihilated the sun himself, I cannot really suppose that the universe would turn a hair.” --- Aleister Crowley

“We are just an advanced breed of monkeys on a minor planet of a very average star. But we can understand the Universe. That makes us something very special."
--- Stephen Hawking

Therefore, God is a monkey.

obviously you have prepared for this with all those tasty roosters you grew - ok, blood (plasma and cells) will supposedly be preserved with a bloodstone placed into the vial (whole, not ground - guess that's why they call it bloodstone), also lapis (interesting) - feed the homeless some of the chicken to get silent servants

Well I am not ritually sacrificing the animal. I am planning on eating the chicken and you need to bleed the animal before you eat it. The blood is just a byproduct and I believe it is better to use everything you possibly can than to let it all go to waste. I am sure many let it go to waste but I believe some people would make a blood pudding out of it or something like that. I raise animals for food I have goats, chicken, rabbits, mice (well not for human consumption but for my Ball pythons). I really didn't plan on having this many roosters I mainly wanted hens but when you get straight run chickens there are definitely going to be a few roosters and you need to cull them or the fight and attack the hens in groups.

I understand what your saying though, that I should be careful and that many people would dissaprove and I will keep that in mind.

I also hold to this belief but if even if the blood is old you still aren't cheating the grimiore. It doesn't call for it fresh. I am also think that the blood could be put in a vial and then a cool pack and shipped to maximize freshness.

Thats very interesting about the blood stone. I have some heliotrope chips but I never knew about their connection with preserving blood. I always thought they were just named that for the red blotches in the stone. There is also a legend that states that the bloodstone was stained by the blood of christ and that may be why they are used for protection in the Grimorium Verum.

Thanks for all you input (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)
