In order to get a better picture of who and what we are dealing with please define:

-Your definition of "Mana"
-The 5 colors associated thereof, and their individuated importance.
-How "Mana" and the "colors" correspond to each other and in what ways.

Welcome to Sacred Magick. Assume Nothing. Question Everything. Evolve Higher.

indeed, elaborate please - interesting

my guess:
mana - bread from heaven, also seen as energy from heaven
colors of energy=differentiation of elements - 5, aefw plus spirit?
to change something, change the color of the mana that makes it up?

but that leaves out one big item - everything is not just a chemical soup of different squishy manas, it has a form that is supplied by a definition - a recipe that definines what it is like, not just the ingredients - in 'causal flow' (http://hubpages.com/hub/esotericas-gates) the definition is in the time-stream, that 'causal flow' that created (caused) it in the first place and maintains it against entropy

so where, in the mana world, does the definition of things reside? - does each thing carry it in their own dna sort of thing? - no wonder stuff is so hard to change...

alright i'll try to explain as best that i can.

mana- its the life force and energy that make up every living thing from an ant to a dragon. there is the physical self which we see evereyday and mana is the energy to live. where in that shows the problem 'wouldn't this magic kill its user and the land around?' the answer is yes and no but i'll put down more on the subject in a second. the mana used is more of a energy than a life force, so when drawn it wont hurt the land (if used in small amounts) the mana used after the spell is over eventualy returns to the environment in someways because the land does genterate the mana back.

the colors are the energy types, which some people use mana and don't realize it due to there personal uses. the colors are red, black, white, green, and blue. each color has its own traits and uses.
black- as the name implies black magic. curses, hexs, necromancy(well known for), and death spells are but a small portion of the arsonal for dark wizards.
!!!! be warned black mana will physicly and mentaly kill you if you are not born in darkness. those who do use them do so with caution and protection. a backfire will be costly. !!!!!!!!!!!!
red- fire, combat, and strengh spells are the most basic spells for red mana users. the right spell at the right time can give one 4x more strengh then any dose of adrenaline.(experiance)
blue- mind control, invisability, and flight are common spells used from blue mana(see my post on levitation- experiance)
white- healing, protection, and holy power. often used by priest and clerics. can be confused with raw power at times of high concentration.
green- growth, primal power (ones ancectry), and technilogical destrustion are used from green mana. tech destruction would be more along the line of rusting metal and building overgrown with plants (reclemation).

the reason it can be harmful is if to much is drawn without the land regenerating whats gone. and if the mana is kept in the mind to long and i will whole heartedly agree it burns like dragon fire. it burns away your mental mind and yet you physicly feel it. this will happen in the beginning a few times but once learned-very easy to learn- its easy to prevent.

Mana? Hmmmm (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif) Sounds a lot like the game Magic the Gathering I use to play in High School with all the nerds. Everytime I got a point I made them strip. . . (IMG:style_emoticons/default/girl_devil.gif) Just Kidding. . .they were soooo into it I could have been sitting there topless and they wouldn't notice. . .

yes actualy the card game its self is fust a game but the way the magic system is works. one of the earlyier books described the drawning of mana and i tried every thing i could and it works. i'd wager my life that it is. you just have to know whats fake and whats real. everything i've tried and has logicly, theoreticly, and physicly worked. and i've played strip magic too. it's fun when your winning and i'm not a nerd about the game it's a hobby and the books are good too.

I figured you might have meant that you performed magic via a system based on the game. A lot of forums will instant ban someone talking in game terms, thinking they are “trolls” (people that cause arguments for fun). I actually think that’s a good idea since magic is mostly mental and that puts one in the mood. I actually really like that game and was introduced to it via my dad. “Harnessing mana” and putting it towards a goal or in a candle/talisman is a great technique. . .

Necromancy is listed under black magic, and that’s a genuine magic system.

“blue mana(see my post on levitation- experiance)”

What kind of experience have you had in levitation?

i just listed necromancy in black because of what i know a necromancer to be and yes the game had a influence in what i define things as but im working on filtering the right and wrong out. i honesly was worried someone would think that or miss understand when they found that fact out, thank you for being kind about that.

levitation
i chanted that light as a feather in the back of my mind just messin around and i started thinking about this lake i went to when i was little. id say that i moved straight up at a rate of an inch every 10-15 seconds. and stayed that way for 3-4 min then when i realized i was levitating i dropped down. i felt like i was on the ground but when i dropped it felt like two discs had been removed from under my feet. what realy made me notice i levitated was the fact that the way we have the tv in the garage its base on the wall is about 6' from the ground (i'm 5' 11") and i was eye level with the bottom of the screen (6'4")
