Could someone please reccomend some good reading or seminars or anything on metaphysics. I have recently been interested in this and would like to learn more thanks for any help in advance. Or if anyone could give me a rundown on what it is that would be great as well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Metaphysics means beyond physics. Metaphysics is about the nature or being of things. It is a huge field of philosophy and there are many traditions about it. Just about every culture, religion, and philosophy has its own metaphysics. In a nutshell, anyone who tries to explain what something is more deeply than naming and describing its use is dealing with Metaphysics. So you get arguments that a table is such and such a thing and its nature is described and and you often also have a bit about why it that way.

Aristotle's Metaphysics is a good place to start if you and that sort of thing.

Religious metaphysics deals with the nature and cause of such things as sin, love, suffering, the nature of god, and how many angles can dance on the head of a pin. Religions also use metaphysics in its cosmology to explain why the heavens move, what they are and how they relate to humans.

If you feel like it christian metaphysics is interesting, but Indian Metaphysics is more useful for occult works. In whatever form you look at though Metaphysics will likely deal with first causes (or principles) which are ideas about how things started and what laws govern its making.

This inner light appears to be outside and to illumine external objects.

I forgot to add this for you.

The Pythagorean Sourcebook and Library. Its one of the better books on old Greek Metaphysics that gave rise to western hermeneutic philosophy and neo-Platonic magick.

Its a fun sort of book, comprised of essays on and translations of his work. Wonderful intro to the field and it only takes a little creativity to apply it to magick.
