Thanks Bym! Actually (and I should've mentioned this) I've been there and that is what helped me finalise my decision :-)

I sure appreciate it though! At least now I know I'm not the only one interested :-) I already bookmarked the site, as the whole thing is good, lol!!!

Thanks!

The site alone gives more than enough material to cathegorize it as the worst smelling garbage ever written, and the book serves as a warning to all occult-writer-want-to-bees to not publish a book too early in their occult progress.

The writer does not want his name to be known, so it is most likely not meant as a serious writing. Maybe a later book with his real face on the back cover could be interesting.

Those are strong opinions friend! Care to elaborate why looking at the info on the site categorizes it as "the worst smelling garbage ever written"?

Just curious :-)

Ugh, do you have to do this to me? I get very ill-tempered when reviewing books, and always hope I can get away with a short opinionated statement. This is however something I must learn to overcome, so I accept your challenge.

First off: Basing his work on whole lists of quotes is simply bad taste.
Next, how old do you think Scribe 27 is? There's a hint at the site that leads me to believe that he might not be a day older than 22.
What is not quotes from the excerpts is sheer opinion. One should expect some ability of reflection when claiming to have a high IQ. And where does he get this from? tickle.com?
What mostly makes me question, is the fact that he says that above all others he
does not lie. If anything in that book is supposed to be laughed at, this is the one.
At last, let me quote from the book:

QUOTE
4.) If you believe that you are able to "command" powerful invisible entities by shouting at them, threatening them, or invoking the "Name of the Lord," then you are a dumbass;

Doesn't seem to me that he has tried to understand or work with many occult systems to produce this statement.

Cool Bro!

First off: Basing his work on whole lists of quotes is simply bad taste.

How so?  I love quotes myself, and if they are gathered in such a way to faciliate learning, then I see no problem with it.  (Yet)

Next, how old do you think Scribe 27 is? There's a hint at the site that leads me to believe that he might not be a day older than 22.

Could you point me to where you found that info?  I see nothing like that friend.

LOL!

What mostly makes me question, is the fact that he says that above all others he
does not lie. If anything in that book is supposed to be laughed at, this is the one.

Well, I remember that that is in chapter one, and if I remember correctly, I don't think he was serious because in the previous sentence or paragraph (I think) he says:

"I am more trustworthy than other authors (perhaps?), but most of my research has been conducted in solitude. Although I am very familiar with the teachings of various Mystery Schools and "secret societies" I have never been formally initiated into any of them (nor bound by their vows of silence). I have, however, learned a few things which I feel may be of value to others who are struggling to understand that which is hidden, and feel that it is important to share these things while I am still able to do so. But be warned — even I may be mistaken in some of my beliefs, but I will never intentionally lie to you. The things of which I speak cannot be reproduced, tested, or "proven" under laboratory conditions, so many people will scoff and say, "No such thing exists!" However, I know that they are wrong, and by sharing these words with you I intend to do my best to "prove it."

Okay, now in that second bold sentence, he does ask for our trust as readers, so...I'll see when i get the book.

At last, let me quote from the book:

QUOTE
4.) If you believe that you are able to "command" powerful invisible entities by shouting at them, threatening them, or invoking the "Name of the Lord," then you are a dumbass;

Doesn't seem to me that he has tried to understand or work with many occult systems to produce this statement.

I admit, when I first read that, I paused, and my "BS" meter went up. But after re-reading the point of his writing that.....well, what I think he was talking about are all the New Agey people that don wizards robes and proclaim themselves magicians. You know who I'm talking about friend, we've all met them. The "fluffy bunnies". Even the armchair magicians as well.

It has now become one of my favorite quotes, lol!

Thanks for your response though, I appreciate it friend :-)

I'm reading the book right now, I haven't read a lot yet though, but most of what our scribe writes appears to be "correct", well... at least it sounds logical and acceptable...
But I must agree on the quotes parts... those are extremely boring and not very good for the credebility of the book...

I have read it. While there is some interesting information, the author wants to pass himself off as being some kind of supreme authority; this is evident even in his "disclaimer": "be warned, even I may be mistaken in some of my beliefs." Thinks a bit highly of himself, no? In the section where he reviews books, he seems to find big faults with even the stuff he "likes". And then he tells us to steer clear of Blavatsky. Even if some of her information was not from where she claimed it to be, her books are still full of interesting information.

No one can write your life's path but you.
