Hi everyone, Im new to this site. I joined pretty much because I can use all the (IMG:style_emoticons/default/help.gif) I can get on conjuring Ose. Ose (Voso or Oso) is the 57th Goetic spirit listed. I am interested in him because I am interested in his abilities (transformation and answereing secrets). When ever I try to conjure him into the dark mirror, using all the conjurations that I have, he never shows up. And I mean NEVER shows up. So I was hoping that someone here has conjured him b4, and can give me some advice, tell me what you did to get him to show up. Even if you havent and you have some advice Id like to hear it.

Thanks,

Greetings 53Ose53!
Well now....I think that we need to establish a Goetic Help Board here at Sacred Magick Forum! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/rolleyes.gif) I have the standard questions for you...
1. How long have you studied evocation?
2. Is this your first attempt to deal with Goetics?
3. If so, have you met with any successes with other entities?
4. When dealing with the Goetia, what version are you using for your source material?
5. What methods are you using to perrform your evocation?
6. Have you changed or adapted the ritual in any way from its proscribed use?

I have more questions...but these need to be answered first so that I can get any ideas on how to troubleshoot your problems...
Mt experience with Ose is limited but know that he does require gifting and/or sacrifice. (This is something that is not often listed...)

Anyway, please try to answer the questions and give me more to go on and I'll try to be of help! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wizard.gif)

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/yahoo.gif) Thanks, I can use all the help I can get.

1.I have studied magic since I was 13yrs old.
2.This is my first attempt at Goetic conjurings.
3.I have met with other entities b4, but I have not talked with them. My first encounter was just looking into my dark mirror and seeing an other face look back at me.
4. Im usuing second edition of the Goetia (not sure if this is what u mean)
5.Im also usuing the conjurations that are in the book.
6. And no, I read the conjurations word for word.

What kind of offerings does he require?

Thanks,

I have yet to meet anyone that had great success with their very first Goetia conjuartion. Practice, practice and yet some more practice (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Also, which book/method are you using?

Greetings 53Ose53!

QUOTE
1.I have studied magic since I was 13yrs old.

This tells me nothing. No offense. How many years have you studied Evocation?
The first attempt may be your largest stumbling block...don't be discouraged.
Are you using any of the ritual tools? Which edition are you using? (Crowley, Mathers, Sloane manuscript, etc.) Are you using the Latin, Greek or Enochian? Are you bothering to cense using the proscribed suffumigations? Are you wearing any of the regalia? Are your Spirit Seals of the appropriate metal(s) and are you Conjuring during the correct time of day?

Now granted alot of this stuff is not absolutely necessary to evoke a Goetic spirit. BUT....despite the nay sayers and the minimalists there is a certain amount of method to the madness. As I have stated, as well as any number of others here on Forum, tools are not the be-all or end-all to a Magical Evocation. Your head has to be in the right 'space'. Like Athena states, practice, practice, practice...

You had stated that you saw anothers face in the black mirror whilst scrying...?
Are you sure that it wasn't your own? An interesting 'parlour trick' involves the use of a mirror and some mood lighting that can reveal past incarnations...just checking.

So keep your chin up and don't let your resolve waver! I'm sure that you will succeed...
Ose likes a 'love' offering and/or some blood. For technical purists, a defiled paten wafer with the menstrual blood and semen. His is the power of Transformation and Glamour. Political and other secrets are under his domain.
Happy conjuring! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

i have studied Evocation for 8 months. As far as ritual tools go, I made my triangle, and my circle, my robe, and wand. Im usuing the Crowley edition, im not sure what languages he translated from. Are you bothering to cense using the proscribed suffumigations?[/QUOTE] Im not sure what that is. I write Ose's seal on a peace of parchment in Doves blood ink and pin it to my robe. Crowley wrote in the back of the book that Ose is a night demon (was he right?) so I try conjuring him at like 10 or 11pm.

That face I saw staring back at me I am definate that it was not my own, unless I grew horns and my goatee turned white in 10mins. Im not sure who that was cuz he didnt speak and vanished as quickly as he appeared. It freaked me out lol.

Can you tell me what your offering to Ose was? What tools you used, and conjurations.

thanks

Greetings!
Back when I first attempted Goetic Evocation I followed the rule book, as it were, and created most of all the tools asked for. I used the Latin and some Greek in the conjurations...being totally ignorant of Crowley or the Enochian system at the time. My first evocations stirred up alot of strange noises and smells. There were 'lurking presences' even after the banishings. Not on just one occasion did I spend the night within the circle in fear. As my experiences grew, so did my confidence and with that, the success rate climbed. The original texts call for specific incenses for the conjurations. A high quality olibanum, myrrh and storax combo can be used with additions of Dittany and Lignum Aloes when materializations are in order. The 'sacrifice' you must decide for yourself. An interesting thread here on Forum about sacrifice and its finer grades and what it means might be of interest. Just a suggestion. I suggest that you find an Enochian primer and learn how to 'vibrate' to Names and really bone up on your Banishings before you start Evokimg demons. It can be arduous work even when done properly. Those that say differently are either extremely gifted or liars. Please be careful and try to employ your other resources before evocation. Good luck! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wizard.gif)

I have to ask what the reason is that you are obsessed with evoking this spirit? If seeing a face freaked you out, what will you do when he appears and is speaking to you?

I am always amused that half the posts in this thread are in the vein of "How do I conjure the demon (insert name)?

The other half of the posts are "I am being tortured and wetting my pants because demon(insert name) won't leave me alone! What do I do?"

Well, I don't believe in my personal responsibility to prevent other's downfalls and they usually don't listen anyway. So here are some ideas to be explored.

How have your experiences involving the drawing of the pentagrams or hexagrams to invoke or banish the elements and planets influences? Can you visualize a flaming circle easily and hold it without concentrating much?

I have always felt one of the main reasons that these beginning rituals use simple shapes is both because of the symbolism and the ease of learning to visualize. charge. and hold them in your mind.

When performing the LBRP or a similar ritual are the circle and pentagrams formed firmly in your mind? Is it easy to see the archangels or are you still simply imagining them?

This is of course my personal opinion, but eventually the pentagrams, hexagrams, the circle, and the angels no longer need to be visualized they actually appear, and you will begin to more easily see things on the magickal plane.

These excercises and/or some skrying practice will help develop the ability to see that which isn't visible to the naked eye.

If you have already completed these early (and lifetime commitments) of a magickal learning program, you may wish to move to the evocation of an elemental.

Finally you should know that myself (and from what I can tell, most others) don't see the demon in all it's physical glory until a large number of attempts. In my own case I completed dozens of evocations where I saw nothing at all.

Here is when you need to kind of fake it. Give the spirit a command and wait for it to be fufilled. You needn't see it for this to happen.

If you have performed the LBRP you probably remember the first time when the pentagrams, and the circle where not visible on the physical plane at all.

In a while you may see slight glimpses, an outline, or simply blobs of energy, from here you may see the completed picture(a description lacking effectiveness, but you get the point).

I have found that with each individual spirit I have had to go through these steps, although they do become easier. Others may have differing experiences but I have never seen a complete vision of the spirit on it's first evocation.

To be honest, Athena's and bym's advice on practice is overwhelmingly suitable for this thread. Their are no shortcuts, at least that I have seen work.

This may sound cruel but if you are starting with evocation for your beginning magickal excercises you are simply wasting your time, as such I hope this is not the case.

In part I wish to know how long and what magickal work you have indulged in? (Be SPECIFIC please!) I noticed you wrote that you have studied magick since 13 but this helps little without a declaration of age.

It would be helpful to know what skills (skrying, banishment, ritual work, talisman or sigil creation, divination, etc.) you bring to the table to aid you in your attempts. With these skills stated it will be easier to see what needs work and what doesn't.

The Work of Ars Goetia involves a number of these skills so any areas already developed will aid you.

I am obsessed with evoking this spirit for a number of reasons. The most important reason I supose would be is that I feel I kind of connection with Ose. I cant really explain it (thats why I want him to be my first rather than vagasso who I heard may be a good start), and dont really want to embarrass my self trying.

The reason why I got scared when I saw that face is because I was just simply looking into my mirror, I wasnt trying to envoke or call anyone to me he just showed up. I wouldnt be as scared of Ose because of that connection (is it naturall to have a connection with a demon?).

When first performing the LBRP I couldnt focus on them as much. I have been practicing that ritual and it is getting easier to see the circle and the pentagrams with out focusing on them as much as my first time (The Archangels still need some work).

I never did scyring, envoking, banishment, ritual work, talisman or sigil creation before. At that age I just stuck with spell casting.

Bym and Chaoscrowley were extremely nice and patient in their replies. Very good advice which should definatly be heeded. To bad there isn't an auto function where those replies just pop up after anyone asks about evoking a spirit LOL.
These guys have been at this quite some time, definatly listen to them, they knhow what they are talking about (a lot don't, trust me on this).
Also, if you don't get results like Bym did when he started, don't worry about it, the dude is/was def a strong natural LOL. Not all of us got wierd spooky stuff right away.

Yes, lots of people (inc. me) do have connections with a particular demon. So, this being the case, even the more reason to practice the basics of magic daily. One must build up their strength and their will, as well as their magical energy/power to work with these forces and stay sane. Just because the connection is there, does not mean that it is a good idea for a young and inexperienced magician to go rushing into things. There is your whole life ahead of you to get to know Ose, no hurry (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I would recommend concentrating more on the foundation practices so that you are a kick butt magician with a strong control of magical forces.

Ok, just curious, did you ever consider why you are attracted to Ose precisely? It might just be because you already display traits that concern him already quite vividly, that is how it seems to be for alot of people. This usually seems to allow easier connections to be formed, but whether they are beneficial or not could be questionned, since if they already have those qualities, contacting them may just strengthen them. Why not go for something that you don't feel so connected to? That does not have any traits similar to you, so that you might develop them?
