Ceromancy is quite an old way to tell fortunes. By dripping the wax in a bowl of cold water and seeing what shape the wax has hardened into a fortune can be told. You can use any color candle although darker colors show up better.
It takes only a bit of imagination on the part of the seer to decypher the images which emerge from the bit of hot wax allowed to drop into the bowl of cold water.
