Hi!
I've been reading a bit in the book of enoch, and I found Azazel very interesting.
So the question is, does anyone know something else about him? Except from what's written in the book of enoch?

Azazel in hebrew is
עזאזל
You could look at the word as being composed of
"Powerful" עז
"Previously" or alternately "then" as an indication of time.
אז
with the final lamed (
ל ) treating him as "of God".

At least here he fits the occurences in Enoch as one of the Nephilim and his placement as a "fallen angel".

The word is also mentioned in Leviticus 16: 8,10,20-22,26. Here the name seems to indicate a demon worshipped by a semitic tribe, whether or not the same entity as mentioned in Enoch, I won't make that call.

Besides the look into the spelling (which is my own, and should be treated as speculative) a decent amount of info can be found under his Wiki Entry which is quite well-written. You would probably best be served by returning to the sources listed there for an accurate picture.

Haunted by ill angels only,
Where an Eidolon, named NIGHT,
On a black throne reigns upright,
I have reached these lands but newly
From an ultimate dim Thule-
From a wild clime that lieth, sublime,
Out of SPACE- out of TIME.

Sacred-Magick also has a few interesting little tid-bits hidden away too.

For instance, if you want a quick summary of Azazel's part in the book of Enoch, we have here what it was that he taught humans how to make.

We also have what choir he was meant to have originated from.

The value of an individual is not numerically assignable. Given the individual's infinite capacity to affect change (for better or for worse), it follows that their value is just as infinite. Logically then, not only are all individuals of equal value, but all possible combinations and groupings of individuals are of equal value, and finally, no matter an individual's past actions, their capacity to affect positive change is not diminished.

The value of the individual is sacrosanct, but actions must be directed in an effort to affect positive change.

Azazel is known to demonologers to be the chief of Se'irim (goat-demons).

"Azazel" is said to have come from "azaz" and "el" meaning "strong one of God." It has been said that he has been somehow influenced by the Egyptian God "Seth", but im skeptical about that.

Some Satanists view Azazel as "Satan", instead of viewing Lucifer as "Satan"; this is because Azazel (in many myths) was said to be the one revealing the heavenly secrets which mankind was not supposed to know. I think this is also what the Book of Enoch says, though im not sure.

In the Apocalypse of Abraham Azazel has been viewed a bit differently. He was once again defiled and punished for his wrong doings (sharing forbidden knowledge).

Also, Azazel (to many, and according to many myths I do not recall), was said to be the serpent in the garden of Eden which tempted Eve to bite the apple from the tree of "knowledge"(clue). Note that Lucifer and Leviathan have also been the "serpent" in many other myths, so we're not exactly too sure.

Note that in almost any myth Azazel has been known to give out the forbiddon secrets and knowledge to human beings. From what I know, and from the people of which have had experience with this spirit... I believe that he is one of the greatest "teachers", and is hated and frowned upon for the very reason of teaching human beings the knowledge which is said to be either "forbidden" by many religions or "Sacred" by others.

I've never worked with this spirit, but have spoken to some people who have, and their claims state that Azazel has been the greatest helper and teacher/mentor.

My views on Azazel:

I view him as a Dark God who is a mentor to mankind and a great ally of ours.
