I know faeries love shiny things, and I have a bunch of crystals and marbles out for them to play with. I'm afraid of doing the whole food thing because I don't want to attract bugs and I'm not exactly sure of how to do it. How can you increase your chances of meeting with a fae and becoming friends with one?

Hopefully this will help you...

A Guide For Attracting Faeries to Your Garden

Many plants attract butterflies and fairies... some of the Gardenfairy's favorites are sunflower, honeysuckle, fernleaf yarrow, summer lilac, red valerian, daisies, cosmos, rosemary, thyme, purple coneflower, pincushion scabiosa, french lavender and heliotrope. Plant pansies, snapdragons, blue columbine, foxglove, butterfly, nasturtiums, and a long list of other favorites to attract hummingbirds and garden faeries.
While attracting fairies you undoubtedly attract some other friends to your garden with birdhouses, birdbaths, birdfeeders and hummingbird feeders. Fairies seem to enjoy the same habitat that butterflies love, so plant flowers, plants and herbs that attract hummingbirds, butterflies and bees.

Fairies and water sprites love the sights and sounds of water. Consider adding a small fountain, waterfall or fishpond to your garden. Garden art statues of fairies will also help attract the wee ones. Shiny windchimes, gazing globes and colorful garden flags can help you entice gnomes and elves to add their presence.

Don’t forget that the wee ones are nature loving and enjoy their fun. Plan to leave part of your garden a bit unkempt. This small area will make fairies feel welcomed. It doesn’t have to be a very large space, but having this one little space will give joy to your fairy friends.

The final step is attracting fairies to come to your garden is very simple. Ask them. If you give conscious energy to this event, it will happen. Believe.

To Attract the Faeries into you Home put out honey cakes, honey milk or just plain milk and they love sweet butter. They take the essence from the food, so don’t think they have not touched it because they may left the food for their animal friends to enjoy. Most house fairy are elves, pixies and brownies, they are fussy about the homes they may live in and it is important to keep your house clean and uncluttered. They won’t stay long if you have a bad temper, and are not nice to animals or children. Most Fairies are offended if you tell them thank you, instead leave them trinkets or food. And once you have offended one they will leave and will not ever return. So enjoy your small wee house guest. Some have fun by playing pranks, and they can be helpful and playful. A happy, joyful home is a home for a Fairy.

Attracting the Fae In Gardens You want to attract the wee folk into your gardens or many your home, but how the heck do you do that? Well first things first, what type of fairy do you wish to attract. If it is flowers in your garden faeries need you to provide some of their favorite plants. The Foxgloves, fairy make clothing from them for themselves. Ferns, are nice soft beds, and Apple or Oak tree, is a place for some to make their home. Rosemary, Forget-Me-Knots, and tulips make good beds for their babies. You may want to build little fairy houses form sticks, stones, or other natural items to place in your garden for them to live in. By placing a crystal on top of this house it will attract the Fae for they love shiny bright and beautiful things, it is also important to keep the cat out of the garden if you want to keep them around.
