(IMG:style_emoticons/default/diablo.gif) MUAHAHAHAHA!

One Million Dollars!

Sorry... I had to do it. Honestly I don't know enough about the seals to even have an idea what you are looking for, but if it is something I can do I am more than willing to work out a deal with you.

Send me some info and we'll see what we can work out, that is... if you haven't already found someone to do it for you.

"I won't say the practice can't be dangerous. However, as with anything else that involves risk, it is really a matter of education and experience.

For example, electricians aren't dropping dead by the thousands- even though the forces they work with every day are *extremely* dangerous. Meanwhile, folks who fancy themselves handy with electricty and go playing around with it unawares often get burned badly."

Ashnook,
I contact a friend and he is checking on what kind of price range we are talking about. If the price is there I wouldn't mind having the amulet done in silver. I bet these simple silver stores sell things that you could do. They have blank necklaces that they engrave all the time. The rub is the special conditions it needs to be created at, i.e. no sunlight!

So when I find out I will let you know.

Seeing as im trying to keep this cost effeciante...but at the same token time is somewhat of an issue...im trying to keep my options open. AVP ill send yu an email with what im looking at and depending on the price I may or may not be interested (no offence man just that im 17 and have no job...but dont worry, if I go into a deal with yu I wont chingolay yu). Nero...keep me updated on the status of your contact as Im assuming his method will be VERY cost effective. Thanks in advance to all. The problem in getting a local silver shop to do it is that I cant trust the requirments.

Some of the items are made from copper and you can buy copper flashing at a good hardware store...
What copy of the Necronomicon are you using? Is it Simons?
Your astronomical times are moving rapidly out of date but I really suggest a crash course in silversmithing. Get a Benzomatic torch with an aerator tip, a bag of microcrystalline wax, a box or milk container, an iron ladle or ceramic crucible, some plaster of paris, some silver, some sand paper, a bit of jewelers rouge, a chamois cloth and an asbestos or flame retardant mat. carve yourself from the wax the amulet you desire with 2 elongated cones coming off the piece...place in box, pour in plaster. let plaster set. remove from box, heat set plaster with torch until wax melts out, melt silver with torch in an iron ladle, pour silver into empty plaster mold, cool, shatter plaster, cut off excess silver, sand and buff smooth. viola! OK OK, depending on size and shape and quality you could pay from $5 for quick engraving to upwards of several hundreds for a custom piece....not usually within your budget realm. Careful with the Necronomicon stuff...it can be dicey, even the Seals of Marduk! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/flame.gif)

That silversmithing post was awesome, thanks (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
For silver I just purchase round discs (you can get silver and copper discs off my site for $10/$5 plain no engraving at www.nightshademagic.com) and either engrave them with a manual engraver, engrave them with an electric one (I'm not that good with the electric yet) or etch them using etching solution. I make Goetic seals by engraving or etching them, and they turn out very well! I could do the necronomicon seals for you, however I don't have any experience with the Necromicon at all, and it would probably be much better for you to get them from someone who does if you will not be making them yourself.
Btw, you can purchase ready made (out of cheap metal) necronomicon necklaces on ebay of that desing on your avatar, I have one, it was about $3, but I doubt that is the one you are after...
I do highly recommend making the seals yourself though if you are seriously going to work with that system. I'm sure the the people here would be quite helpful with technique etc.
Btw, with the silversmithing, how do you get the silver into the little holes to pour into your mold? A metal funnel, a melting device with a lip on it or ?
Also, how do you melt the silver? What is the best thing to melt it in so you don't lose too much of it?
I am still trying to melt tin and not getting it perfect LOL. ANyone know where to purchase PURE tin sheet metal?

Hola! the addition of the wax cones onto the wax original so that the small ends are fused with the wax object. as the plaster is heated the wax will melt and run out. This will occur if the two wax cones are opposite one another on the object (ie north/south) The large ends of the cones will end up on the outside of the plaster cast. The cones will act as a funnel (ie shape) for the metal. Make sure your plaster cast is positioned N/S when pouring the metal. I use a blacksmith ladle or a ceramic crucible to melt the silver in. A kiln or the aerated torch should provide the heat needed to melt the metal. A pair of lab tongs will convey the crucible to the mold. Pouring requires patience and alittle skillful technique but isn't too problematic. Try Google for the tin search...or try a foundry, Edmunds Scientific catalogue, Testors chemical catalogue, a junkyard/scrap metal place or melt down some old tin ornaments/soldiers. A welding supply house may be good (Their welding glass makes for EXCELLENT scrying mirrors). Need any craft info and I maybe able to help. During my lifetime these objects d'craft were not readily available so I learned silversmithing, blacksmithing, herbology, papermaking, candling, soap making (P...U!) and how to weave and sew. I'm frigging Martha Stewart! Oh Gods! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/5.gif) Anyhow, I'm here to learn!

Thanks for the elaboartion (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Definatly useful skills to have for magick!
I preffer to make anything I use for magic from scratch if I can, so it is always nice to learn something new.
That is pretty cool you know how to weave! Sigil rugs <g>.
Anytime that you want to post on making techniques please do!

Thank you for your kind words. How 'bout a thread on making your own books?
I can really respect someone who takes time to create from scratch! Do you own the site that you advertise? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/bye.gif)

Hmm a forum for creating/making your magickal supplies would be cool, I'll see if I can talk the other mods into it <g> I'm of the opinion that more should be made yourself.
Yep the site is mine, nothing like shameless self promotion LOL
