???

Yes, I know the 50 names of Marduk is part of the Enuma Elish, but the sigils, and half those names are taken from somewhere else. Can somebody fill me in on what the Necro is about and what it summons?

Greetings here is the forward to the Necronomicon,

Cthulhu calls.

There are primeval forces that were worshipped and summoned long before the creation of the Qabala. They are the ancient ones of SUmerian faith and they live on in the magick of ALiester Crowley and the mythos of H.P. Lovecraft. They wait beyond the gate ready to rule the Earth again.

This long lost sorcerers handbook contains incantations and conjurations exorcisms and bindings. But they are not to be used lightly. We can only guess what horrible fate prevented Abdul Alhaztred from completing this book of the black Earth. And remember there are no effective banishings for the forces invoked in the Necronomicon.

The Necronomicon's magick is nothing to fool with and it may expose you to psychological forces with which you can not cope. Remember if you tinker with the incantations you were warned.

Yet in the Enuma Elsih the 50 names of marduk were not 50 spirits, but only 50 names for a Babylonian god. Therefore where did this extra material come from?

Greetings,

Apparently you have either not read the Enuma Elish at all or your did not comprehend it. This seems to me like the chicken or the egg question.

Which came first the chicken or the egg?

Who gives a fug? Lets make an omelet.

This just seems odd man, how can you contact a Goetic spirit within a Judaeo-Christian pantheon and still talk to a Babylonian deity? This smells of either:

A)Deception (probable)

B)were getting into something deep.Really deep.

"a Goetic spirit within a Judaeo-Christian pantheon"

You do realize the Sumerian pantheon predates christianity by thousands of years dont you?You seem very confused,i suggest you take your time reading the SIMON necronomicon and understand it to the full extent,and also the many posts here by the experienced ones on the essentials and basics of the necro..Good luck..

P.S..It aint no deception bro..The necro just saved my life and the lifes of my family two days ago..

No, by deception I meant that maybe these spirits are posing as something they aren't. Also, could you link me a copy of the Simon necronomicon? I have a necro but I don't know which is the Genuine one out there to be honest (though much of the material overlaps obviously).

Simon says the book is a Grimore based on the sumerian/Babylonian/Akkadian pantheon. It is not soley based on the Enuma Elish.

know the spirits as you see them. experience them yourself. the books are here to be argued upon. but your experiences will be the ones to guide your beliefs :-)

To these I turn, in these I trust;
Brother Lead and Sister Steel.
To his blind power I make appeal;
I guard her beauty clean from rust.

He spins and burns and loves the air,
And splits a skull to win my praise;
But up the nobly marching days
She glitters naked, cold and fair.

Sweet Sister, grant your soldier this;
That in good fury he may feel
The body where he sets his heel
Quail from your downward darting kiss.

Smith was more of a dreamer than Lovecraft (that's saying ALOT) and was called the "Keats of New England". He writes better, and has some of the strangest writings I have ever encountered. Also a close friend of HPL and contributor to the Mythos cycle. Very interesting.
