I recently have been reading up on the geota; I noticed that many spirits are adept at finding 'hidden treasures'. I am aware that most of these are not for actual material wealth but I was wondering if someone could point out the proper spirit to call for literal 'money'.

Greetings!
Sadly, that was written at a time when there were lost treasures, etc. You can still get reports about treasures hidden underwater but the Goetics aren't terribly accurate nor revealing. As far as actual money goes, they will point to the nearest bank. *sigh* In actuality, the Church used to have Karcist Treasure Hunters badgering the Goetics continuously for awhile...leaving slim pickings for us later on. Your best bet is to find yourself a cushy job and make your own money. IMHO, of course! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/i_triangle.gif)

Hmm. That gives me an idea, actually.

'Hidden Treasure' can actually carry a bunch of definitions these days. Like someone selling jewelry at a yard sale, and then the lucky buyer finds out it's worth a lot of money--that is, provided it's not been fenced. :/

But there are a lot of valuables out there that don't *seem* valuable at first glance, hence they're 'hidden' in a sense. Try telling the spirit to find something like antiques or books, basically anything that looks like junk but really isn't. It's a really open-ended sort of thing. And don't forget small profits can add up over time to large profits, too.

Does it need to refer to something materialistic? Maybe it can be pointed towards an ability or trait or whatever in yourself/someone else that noone or atleast outsiders knew about?

If not, i guess i can go for some coal and a überhighpressurechamber to make diamonds ;D

I recently requested that the geotic spirit that would do this for me would reveal itself to me in a dream. That night i had a nightmare that had representations to qualities of geotic spirits. the symbolism is the followig

Sense of fear, bad Karma, failed magick, loss of love, an invincible old man, and a black rat which i tried to catch but could not wile a voice spoke to me about physics and I could not catch it for reasons like that.

I suppose that the symbols are all things that the spirit can cause.

Eyes of God, Greetings!

First, please forgive me this small eccentricity... it is spelled G O E T I A or G O E T I C...sorry 'bout that...

Secondly, Your symbolic revery produced some rather interesting results. (take some time to mull over your answers, they have some very valid points)

May I suggest that you attempt this again only using VASSAGO as the Goetic point of contact. It is rather benign and friendly when approached with an honest and earnest question.
I'll also suggest that you do this after tracing an astral circle about yourself. This is not for protection but rather as a focus for you and Vassago. It represents the infinite and will help facilitate your contact. The size is unimportant as it will be in the astral. Take about twenty slow and deliberate full breathes, calming yourself during this phase. If you can, burn a little incense to honor Vassago and stare at its sigil/patten for awhile...when the image leaves a color imprint in your eyes, close your eyes and evoke Vassago. When you feel that you are not alone, ask your qwuestion outright, trying to visualise it in your minds eye at the same time. Ask once. Wait for images...if there is nothing repeat but only up to a total of three times. (their is nothing 'mystical' in the number of times repeating this just that fatigue will set in and the working is lost) Give thanks to the entity and give a license to depart...courteously, then go and get something to eat and drink. Record your results as soon as possible. Always give License to depart as you don't want to have an extended link to the entity. The eating and drinking will also serve to bring one back to normalcy as well as replenish your blood sugar levels.
Note: This is mertely a template for working with benign entities/spirits and there is much left out that can 'fine tune' your experience. I wish you well. I'll be glad to answer questions as long as they aren't flippant or an excuse not to think about what you are attempting. Peace. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/egypt1.gif)

I had a friend who is a professional treasure hunter down in the Tampa Bay area who I got together with once to summon one of the Spirits from the Goetia for finding lost treasures. John was retired and had a partner who would drive over to Jupiter, FL and take a boat out into the Atlantic looking for sunken treasure - sort of like Mel Fisher and the treasure of the Atocha?

A lady friend and I did a summoning of Volac to discover if there was any lost treasure out in the waters off the shore. At first we were trying to get the Spirit to give us map coordinates thinking this would make things easier but she wasn't getting clear readings from Volac so we opted to talk in measures of nautical miles from a specific point on shore. Volac told us that approximately 2 nautical miles out there was a small amount of coins - yes he said coins - lying about - about 8 all together - and they were gold.

So armed with this knowledge, John and Jerry took off from the spot in Jupiter with their boat and followed pretty much a bee line out into the Atlantic. Then John dived and he said it took him about 24 or 25 minutes and he spotted one on the bottom. Excited he began looking and found five more but not 8. However they sold them to a dealer for a nice, small chunk of change and gave us a commission for helping them.

The next time we tried that, Volac seemed irritated to give us any further details. lol I think the guys got something like $20K for those coins - they were really tarnished - but it seems the Spirits can help you find sunken treasure.

Also you may want to treasure hunt out west near old mining towns as many a prospector was one to bury his loot and so often were they killed that they never got up all their money.

John told me that Louisiana was a state that has TONS of buried treasure and not just from pirates but folks who lived and died there from prior to after the Civil War. There's a lot of buried money down in the south but depending on whether it's coinage or Confederate money would make a helluva difference to how valuable it was.

It also just occurred to me, have any of you ever went hunting out west in Montana or Wyoming for dinosaur bones? You realize those are worth a fortune especially if you can find a whole skeleton but even a tooth, claw or other bone is worth something. There's a lot of collectors of said bones worldwide you could sell them too and there's a messload of dinosaur bones still resting waiting to be unearthed.

All the Best,

I haven't asked the others about Treasure but I did ask one about a line that caught my eye.

Barbatos is an Earl and Duke of Hell, ruling thirty legions of demons and has four kings as his companions to command his legions. He gives the understanding of the voices of the animals, says past and future, conciliates friends and rulers, and he can lead men to hidden treasures that have been hid by the enchantment of magicians.

It does relate to actual "treasure" but it also means the spirit can help you understand blinds and hidden meanings within occult texts. Especially the older ones where the authors wrote half way out there mouth.
