I'm not sure if the question falls in this category. I dreamt I was walking through a wooded area and then two large woody arms came down from a tree and trapped me to the ground. Several stakes or large thorns also came from the tree and stabbed me in the back and I was dying. Then the tree looked at someone passing by in the distance and then it realized it was killing the wrong person. The tree's name sounded like Nythal, it was a spirit or god of some kind. It said something like 'the innocent shouldn't be forgotten' and then in compensation it revived me with extra abilities.

I’ve never heard of Nythal, doing a google search for Nythal shows that it is a common name in RPG games. Here are some similar sounding names I found looking through my sources:

Niathel (ןיחאל) - One of the names of the Schemahamphorasch associated with the last 5 degrees of Aries.

Nithogg - a dragon in Teutonic mythology who tries to injure the roots of the world tree and chews on the corpses of evil people.

Nahual (pronounced Nay-wal) – In Aztec mythology, a Nahual is your personal spirit.

In Tamil (a major language spoken in India, Sri Lanka, Malaysia, and Singapore), Neythal is an aquatic flower which denotes coastal areas and is used poetically to refer to a state of mind (loneliness and sadness).

Hope this helps.

This is just a shot in the dark but maybe your hearing and interpretation of the word Nythal could have been somehow distorted by time and memory, and what was said might have been "Nathaniel" which means "Gift of God" or "God has given". (Hebrew)

I looked around on the internet and did find Nythal which was written NYTHAL. Apparently it's a Hebrew spelled angelic name similar to Niathel. Kinda like YHWH to Yahweh, I think. I listed a link.

Um, what's the last five degrees of Aries anyways? I'm not very good in that area.

As I could recall, the "I" sound in "Ny-" did come in pretty strong. Like BIll "Nye" the science guy. Right now everything's becoming fuzzy. I'll probably forget in a day or two.

The arcane-archive refers.

The Schemahamphorasch is a kabbalistic manipulation of the 72 names of God with AL or IH, El or Yah added to create the names of Angels. Each of these angels is assigned a 5 degree sector of the traditional zodiac (360/72 = 5). Check an astrology reference, but if I am not mistaken the last 5 degrees of Aries are ruled by the planet Mars.

Nythal and Niathel are in reality the same English translation of a Hebrew word . The Hebrew spelling (which I gave you in my earlier post) is Nun - Yod -Tau- Aleph- Lamed (NYThAL). In Biblical Hebrew there are no vowels and Yod can translate to "ia", "ie" or "y" and Aleph is not really spoken but rather aspirated and in English is substituted by "a" or "e".

BTW , NYThAL or Niathel means "Wail at the Portent of God"

I assume that you are talking about the 5 degrees of Aries... Well there really is not that much to interpret. The zodiac is a circle of constellations that corresponds to the apparent path of the sun during the year. Traditionally there are 12 constellations that compose the zodiac (Aries, Taurus, Gemini, etc.),. If you are - say a Virgo, what this means is that sun was rising in the constellation of Virgo when you were born. I assume you understand this... if not, do some surfing on the net there is a plethora of sites that discuss the basics of astrology.

Here is a good site : http://www.skyscript.co.uk/

Next, because the zodiac is seen as a circle (from the vantage point of earth) ,like any circle, it is composed of 360 degrees. For convenience these are divided into 12 equal segments of 30 degrees corresponding to each constellation (this is because 360/12 =30)... so Aries has 30 degrees, Taurus 30, etc... Imagine a pizza sliced into 12 equal segments and you get the idea. Now imagine that each of the 12 slices is divided into 6 mini-slices so you have a total of 72 equal mini slices. Each one of the 72 angels of the Schemahamphorasch is assigned to one of these mini-slices of the zodiac. The last 5 degrees of Aries corresponds to the final mini-slice of Aries. This is a location in space. NYthAL is therefore seen as being in charge of that sector of the zodiac... you might say that is where he resides.

The zodiac also represents time (since it is used to chart the movement of the sun). The sun rises in the last 5 degrees of Aries around April 14-20. If these dates are of little importance to you, I would not dwell on the astrological interpretation too much as it can get very intricate and yield little results. However, for fun, you can give me the exact date of when you had the dream, your location, and also estimate the time, I'll check for you to see if the sector of the zodiac corresponding to NYthAL was in a prominent position in the sky during your vision (PM me if you don't want this info to be public)... this can be a rather interesting experiment and perhaps confirm whether or not the figure in your dream was NYthAL . Otherwise don't bother with the astrological interpretation, it will make no sense until you have a firm understanding of the theory and practice of astrology. Even if your understanding of astrology is extensive you will find the infinite possibilities of interpretation serve as fuel for further reflection and meditation... basically a stimulus for Mental Masturbation. Check out Crowley's 777 for other non-astrological correspondences with NYthAL.

O I don't really dwell much into astrology anyways. The fact that it happens to be an actual name is interesting enough. Anyways just for fun, the date was today Dec 5, in the morning hours, I'm not sure round 2-7AM Central time zone. Dates aren't signigicant.

That specific dream actually continues.

This is an experiment I have been working with for some time now. The hypothesis is that the position of the moon (not just the phase) along the ecliptic can influence our subconscious minds. Any individual anywhere on earth has two major gravitational influences: 1. The Earth and 2: Moon (of course the sun’s gravitational pull influences both and all the planets add to this but in much more subtle amounts).

Now the zodiac is a collection of archetypes akin to a localized version of Jung’s collective unconscious. While the zodiac is not an astronomical reality in so far as it is a projection of the sun’s path onto a backdrop of fixed stars (as seen from earth), it is a very real aspect of the terrestrial human experience. For at least 3,000 years humans have used the zodiac to chart the heavens and cognize the world around them. This has resulted in our ancestors attributing meaning and symbolisms to its physical parts which have passed down through generations and become part of our cultural minds… Blah Blah Blah!

The question is: What if the relative position of the Moon along the ecliptic for an individual at some predefined location can result in a gravitational pull (i.e. a tide) within the individual’s mind that permits the localized archetypes of the ecliptic to influence the subconscious??? Sounds a bit loony, but thus far I have found some correlation…I have never gone as far as to localize it to 5 degrees because I have never had any reason to do so.

So how does this pertain to your case with NYThAL? Well, since I do not know your precise location or time when you experienced the dream, I can’t state anything for sure. I used Oklahoma City as a location smack in the center of the U.S. at 5am to do the calculations. The moon was never in Aries during your dream; however, an interesting fact is that the moon and sun were in opposition (i.e. nearly a full moon) thereby placing opposing gravitational stress on the earth. Whenever there are opposing forces one looks for a third point to balance the effect, this third point was indeed in Aries (near the last 5 degrees). What this all means I don’t know, so far one case of this precision is statistically insignificant… but it is indeed a curiosity that merits further investigation… Thank you for sharing your experience.

Cheers.

Well tomorrow is April 14, we'll see what happens next week. There's a second part which was kinda fuzzy. Something with me running through a long building that was gonna blow up, and a helicopter rotor flying at me. Then I'm battling an army of wind giants with Nythal's gifts. Strange, I just realized today is Friday the 13th.

(got here from this topic)

I'd forgotten until reading this; I had a dream involving angelic error (January, I think). It was a one of those looong days, had a headache, and after trying to do housework I gave up and took a nap.
While half-asleep, a sort of angelic figure appeared (big tough guy with a diminutive assistant). He said something along the lines of "I've finally found you after tracking you down for years since you did [something involving a bunch of dead people]." Then I got a movie of someone committing suicide and sort of disappearing, then an image of a park I went to when I was 5 (had an accident at the time place, but it's in a different county, and I haven't even been there for 4 years). So I asked why it had taken them so long to find me if this was true, the assistant said the angel guy really sucked at tracking people down, which got him mad.
The dream seemed so hokey at that point that I just laughed at them, which pissed the angel guy off even more and he just became a sort of blur, but it didn't seem to coincide with anything. So I talked with the assistant how they knew it was me and the guy refocused and they sort of argued about the evidence and it seemed boil down to me being at the same where & when that their target was. The rest is pretty vague; but they semi-apologized, left, and I woke up sans headache.
