From what I gather time is meaningless in the astral realm. I was wondering then if you can spend what would seem like 50 years in the astral plane and come back to the physical plane a few minutes after you left your body.

Imagine what you could achieve if you could do that. Instead of spending your whole life reading and learning in the physical world you could learn the same information in the astral realm but only spend seconds in the physical world.

Is my theory on time in the astral realm way off?

Greetings Xochipilli,

You are thought provoking machine…

It seems you are right that time is meaningless in the astral world… in fact, I would say that time can’t exist in the astral world. This is because the past, present, and possibilities for the future are all intertwined in the astral. It is like an omnipresent web of thoughtforms that include the collective present alongside collective memories (past) and collective anticipations (future). Furthermore, time is a human construct to understand physical motion. I don’t see any way of spending 50 years in the astral since there is no way of measuring this …. There is no astral sun around which the astral world rotates.

My thoughts are that when people say that time is distorted in the astral they are referring to the experience in retrospect (i.e. it seemed like I was there for an hour but I only was in meditation for 20 minutes). This is likely a result of the amount of information that is gathered by the conscious mind during the astral experience. Depending on how much information is retained you make a retrospective estimate of the amount of time it would take in the physical world to acquire the same amount of information. .

You wouldn't age in the astral because time is meaningless, no past or future. But I wouldn't count on "staying" in the astral for too long as it can spew some major problems in your daily physical life, and I also do not believe that it would be nearly as easy to stay in the astral for 50 years.

However, I am aware that such things are achievable through "chronokinesis" (controlling time).

I don't mean to lead Xochipilli's post astray, but what can you tell us about chronokinesis? Any good references?

Although there is not much information about Chronokinesis, and its possibilities have been oft disregarded and ignored, here are some facts about it and techniques you can use.

What it is?

Chrono means time so chronokinesis is the ability to slow down or maybe speed up ones perception of time. You can read entire novels in less then one night you could get a better picture of things in a game or sport.

Chronokinesis is the power to slow down or speed up your perception of time. If you slow it down you will appear to others to be moving at superhuman speed and your talk will sound like gibberish but to you it will be like everything is slow motion. If you choose to speed up time, everything around you will seem fast and you will appear to be in slow motion.

Exercise:

First get a clock that ticks on the second and find a relaxing place. Then Listen to the beats and begin to realize that time isn't real. Now listen to the beats getting slow or faster. Do this for a few minutes and then listen, if the beats are closer or father apart you've done it. Practice this enough and eventually you won't need a clock.

1. First start by getting a pendulum or clock or something that make a ticking sound once a second. Then in your know time get comfortable and relax.

2. Now listen to the beats of the object, Tick, Tock, Tick, Tock, Then focus on this sound and listen for the spaces between the tick tock sound focus on the silence and blend your energy with the silence realize that man is not governed by time. Time is simply a concept created by man.

3. Now listen to the spaces between the beats, focus on the measure of silence getting slower and slower.

4. Do this for several minutes and then if the beats are getting longer apart from the next one you've done it! Now just keep practicing and eventually you will get to where you don't need a pendulum or clock.

Afraid not. I cant get past the meditation part yet. Ive tried loads of times to leave my body in the state between wake and sleep but never any luck. I used to be pretty good at watching myself drift towards sleep then pull myself out and let myself go back in etc.

I often feel when Im on mushrooms that Ive slowed down my perception of time and my mind can react to everything with way more precision than usual. Everybody tells me I appear way smarter on shrooms and I feel it too. When talking to someone I usually have about 50 things to say and before theyve even finished what theyre going to say. I only need to hear about half of their sentences and I know what theyre going to say.

Also I manage to crack pretty funny jokes in nearly every situation. Brings out the comedian in me.

Thanks for the exercise,I'll try it out. I guess the idea is to understand and experience time as a perception and not a reality. Where did you learn this skill? Have you put it in practice in your daily life?
