I have read Kinjo's How To Conduct A SEANCE! from way back in 2005 prior to posting, however, I am leading a seance and would like to pick any one's brains that has experience of this, e.g. the best way to handle it, what to expect or perhaps accept nothing at all.

From those who have expressed an interest I have carefully selected those who I feel are unlikely to freak out in the event of a bang or crash or whatever, but I just want to make sure that I do the evening justice.

Thanks,

BTW: Apologies if this is the wrong forum, there seemed to be several choices and I was unsure.

Hi there. Mainstream Occultists are typically lacking in this knowledge as most of them see seances as a waste of time or uninteresting. One of the reasons for this is the lack of respect Spiritualists/Spiritists get from mainstream lodges. The lodges tend to dislike the idea of summoning something within to do whatever it wants though in truth there are far fewer cases of problems with Spirit Possession than there are with Spirit Summonings a.k.a. Evocations.

Further you may find the South American African Traditional Religions of Macumba, Quimbanda and Candomble more to your liking because they take a stronger approach to Spiritualism within their Yoruban practices.

Many of the ATR who practice mediumship either get professional training or are taught privately thru their temple. One reference they use for this is the books by Allen Kardec. You may also want to drop a note to the Spiritualist training camps at Cassadega, FL & Lilydale, NY.

It's been my experience that folks who're trained mediums have far better luck gaining contact with grimoire entities too.

Hope this helps.

All the Best,
