Greetings,

It is quite a large site so I am still looking over it, but I thought I would post and see if anyone else has come across it, and what people make of it. Something of an eclectic mix of Religion, Psychology, Magick, and Philosophy, it addresses the work of Carlo Suares a Qabala Philosopher and writer. I don’t often like such mixes of things that don’t mesh naturally and this mix irked me when I read the introduction. That feeling was fleeting. The author of the site has gone to great pains to not to overstate- and under explain- the complex body of work. It works as well as it does because Metapsychology is used to tie all the disciplines together.

Metapsychology the "study of the origin, structure, and function of the mind and of the relationship between the mind or spirit and the physical universe", is a new concept for me. Being new I find myself wondering if anyone is acquainted with it.

Cosmic consciousness is devoid of diversity; yet the universe of diversity exists in notion....
We contemplate that reality in which everything exists, to which everything belongs,
from which everything has emerged, which is the cause of everything and which is everything....
The light of [this] self-knowledge alone illumines all experiences. It shines by its own light.
This inner light appears to be outside and to illumine external objects.

I have not been to this site before but is seems very vast. Like something I could spend a very long time learning. While the site seems legitimate I would not take it for gospel. There are many sites out there that make claims about being the works of great authors from long ago, but its just some new age nut trying to push their ideas by making them look legitimate and basing them off of legitimate consepts.

Does seem interesting though.

I think psyche.com has great promise. In fact the "The Eight Propositions" sums it all up very neatly. Hurrah! something to do tonight (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sun.gif)

I understood what I read on the site about as well as I understand Timothy Leary--which is to say, I can probably get it to make sense if I immerse myself in the material for long enough to pick up on all of the author's nuance--one of those of people whose way of communicating things seems to require that one take in a larger body of their work until a pattern begins to emerge, but on the surface the stuff seems convoluted to me-fascinating but hard to make sense of. Maybe my head just doesn't work that way. I might engage it some more, though, as there's coverage on the Hebrew alphabet and I'm coming to a place on my path where I'm getting ready to explore that. It'd be good to get a varied perspective on the subject and that site seems to offer one.

It is a bit dense because the author assumes that people reading it knows something about the body of work he’s referencing. Direct reasoning and gaps where he thinks something should be so obvious it need not be explained adds to the confusion. I found it easer to refer back to original text for context, but I always do. However Suares wrote mainly in French and babblefish is not the ideal way to read something.
