Occult Wiki: Any Takers? Options

There is thelemapedia, occultpedia, and there's nothing that I know of that is as large, professionally managed and as complete as wikipedia.
It wll be nice if we have as comprehensive wikipedia of occult content, don't you think? I'll be willing to start one, invest in a domain name and pay someone to install the softwares, but not going to do it unless you (the users who will own and expand the content and maintain it) support this and commit in building it. I'd like to see it's content and quality as good as wikipedia with the same back-end software and interface. So let see how this goes for a while.

wikipedia pretty much has it as far as occult references go - a lot of it needs be expanded, and they are asking for knowledgeable folks to just that (take ownership of a topic or two), but having tried to maintain some entries before, even the word 'the' can be argued about so much and long that nothing gets done - i call them wikidiots - no matter what you say in the entry, there are always be those coming out of the woodwork who will disagree with it (and there is no more loaded topic for disagreement than the occult), and to offer to include them or their ideas in the entry is rejected because they apparently just want to argue - it takes great discipline and patience to do it, and i would think twice about doing it again, plus i didn't have to put out the hardware or software either

There is, fyi, a WitchWiki, which is part of wikipedia. It's not very complete though, and seems to be centered more aroudn neo-paganism. Just thought I'd let you know.

I have been a contributor to Wikipedia on several different topics (many of them occult). I agree that there is a lot of time wasted arguing over topics, but I didn't find that there was any more arguing over the occult than over historical topics. In fact, some of the historical topics were more "debated" than the occult. I finally gave up on the whole thing 4 years ago.

But, I would be interested in participating in such a site if you start one. I'm retired now, so I would have plenty of time to put into it.

Now I'm a bit old fashioned so it might just be me, but a properly assembled occult library is by far more complete than a wiki could be, and even a haphazard collection of a few choice e-books offers more nuance. Personally, I'd much rather see the SMF properly indexed and crossed linked. Between the Learning Center & Specific Paths Forums there is at least one good sized reference text. It also has the added benefit of being user created without needless bickering. I'll even volunteer to ask a lot of questions just to round everything out.
