You make it sound like you're only assuming they are about future occurences - have any of them actually come to pass, or are they just very vivid dreams?
FIrst of all, some necessary things to have on your mind. Having prophetic dreams, does not necessary constitute prophetic ability - this is because just as you can reliably predict some events just based on logic alone, so can your subconscious mind. If you've had some particular situation that you're involved in or that you know about, and there is some kind of logical outcome or pattern to it, it's possible to dream that outcome and then see it come to pass and think - wow, I must have had a prophetic dream.
Example: I dreamed that my grandfather died, three days before it happened. He was, however, very sick with several different types of cancers. My first instinct was to think that I'd had a prophetic dream, but if it had happened in five days instead of three I would have thought the same thing initially - fact of the matter is he was on his way out and I knew this.
Some events that you dream about couldn't be chalked up to logical progression of events - natural disasters, sudden accidental deaths, unexpected windfalls, etc.
Example: I had a dream about a tornado falling on my grandmothers house, while I hid in the basement. It was my childhood home for some time and I lived in the basement. THree days later a tornado hit my mothers house, and dropped a tree through the backyard which busted out the window in my old room - the connections there are obvious.
In either case, if you think you are having prophetic dreams, you should keep a journal. You should keep a dream journal anyway as a general practice - being involved with the occult, your dreams will shed a great deal of light on whatever it is you're trying to accomplish, can let you know how energy is moving around you when a ritual is coming to fruition, give you insight into what sorts of things to focus on when actually doing any kind of magick, and act as the medium through which your higher self, spirit guides, angels you are working with, etc., can communicate to you. Until you have practice analyzing your dreams, applying them to your waking life, and even before all of that recalling them accurately, a lot of that possible communication can be missed.
As far as controlling it, the best that you can really hope for is to know when it is going to happen. Record a short entry in your dream journal before going to bed what you did just prior to sleeping, how you have felt that day, how you feel at the moment you write down this entry, and then follow it up the next morning with your dreams that night. This will slowly start to demonstrate patterns of thinking and feeling in conjunction with the things you dream about. How you feel just before you sleep has a large impact on the nature of your dreams. You may notice over time that you feel a particular way before you have prophetic dreams, and in still more time you can learn to get into this feeling before going to bed to raise the chances that you will have such dreams. Likewise you'll learn how to 'control' what kinds of dreams you have - not lucid dreaming, which is a different practice; but can happen simply as a result of your conscious attention to dreaming.
Similarly to my first point of confusion on your post here, I'm not sure what you mean by 'getting outta control' - you mean that you are plagued somehow by these dream, etc.? If I understand you right, the only thing I can think of to say is don't be a drama queen about it. Maybe they come to pass, maybe they don't, but either way they are just dreams. Maintain a level head throughout this, and all other occult practice and experience. You can't lose objectivity when subjectivity gets out of control on you. You have to balance between the two and when subjective experience gets to be too heavy, switch to objective, and simply observe what's happening and look for evidence of why. There are no short answers in this field of study and practice, regardless of what element of occult or metaphysical you're involved in. It takes time, observation, hypothesizing, testing, and more time.
Hopefully i've given you some ideas to think on, but in the end you have to decide for yourself what you're going to do, how you're going to handle it, and how much effort you're willing to put into getting real answers to replace your assumptions and fears.
peace

wow...um okay. i guess i can see how my prior statement can be construed as "confusing" so i will clarify for everyone. yes they are dreams usually. it's been going on for about a year as well as i get into a prophetic mode and start talking differently, which my friends can vouch for. this i was fine with because even though i thought it was strange i couldn't really know when to expect when the "prophetic future me" as i have come to call it, or the dreams would come at least it was alright and i could function. now though im in school trying to focus on my boring class when a daydream that feels the same as a prophecy happens. or i'll talk to a friend and suddenly go into "p.f.m." while in mid conversation. to answer your ? vagrant... yes a few of these that i can remember have come to pass. but my friends would probably say i have a high accuracy of this prophetic thing. either way i have secluded already the feeling i feel when it happens that's not the problem, it's just i don't want to go in for a job interview and suddenly start spewing out prophecies to my would be future employer about his life that makes him think im a lunatic. no drama queen vibe here, just it's starting to affect things. now i'm an empath so that could have a lot to do with it too. i have discovered my empathy leads to a lot of other gifts from reading minds to psychoanalyzing someone down to every minut detail of them. but whatever the case these dreams aren't just at night anymore, their becoming longer and more spontaneous. so i was wandering if anyone had any exercises i could use so as to not be viewed as insane by my fellow man that's all. I believe the human mind has inner potential that most people never really tap into. The way I explain it is the mind is a super computer that eats up sensory information and translates that data. With the data the mind then extrapolates additional information through higher logic and reason generally working on a subsconscious level. This additional information may be about future possibilities, as well as past information that the mind is not directly aware of. This to me is a theory that could, in part, explain abilities like astral projection, bi-location, telepathy, ESP, psychometry, retro and precognition and prophetic dreams as well as many other "paranormal" abilities. As conscious human beings were are trained to use our minds based on experiences through growing up, being raised and institutions like schools. Essentially the mind is a slab of clay and our family, social and societal roles mold us to become who we are as adults. Indeed the core personality of a human is developed by around the age of 6 and seldom changes much throughout a person's life without much conscious effort. The way we are raised often affects our awareness, both internal and external. Right now as you looking at this your body is detecting a multitude of sights, sounds, smells etc etc, be it the running of fax machines down the hall, cars outside an appartment, birds in the trees whatever other stimuli, your mind and body are experiencing those sensations. As adults we have learned to tune out most of the "static" in life. But this is only on a conscious level. The subsconscious and unconscious selves still process the information and if the stimuli received is deemed important the lower mind will alert the greater self and make it aware. This awareness does not simply extend to the senses, but information, knowledge and emotions (internal and external). The mind is perfectly capable of using these things to make assumptions, guesses, and reason possibilities. Though sometimes the things we think on an unconcsious level often manifest as being "prophetic" in reality the mind is just doing what it does best - work like a really cool super calculator that reasons not only numbers, but language, sensations, emotions and abstract thoughts. I think people underestimate the mind and tend to think things like prophetic dreams are not possible because our limited logic does not allow for subjective reasoning vs. emperical observations. So, about your dreams. Ok so you've been having a few that mimic future courses. What do you do about it? Gain greater awareness of your dreams. Learn to harness them and make them work for you. This is a pretty good thread to check out: http://www.sacred-magick.org/2.3.5/index.php?showtopic=5431To increase awareness of your dreams you need to both dream as often as possible and keep a record of them. Dreams are strongly linked to memory and the more you experience dreams an the more you commit them to memory the more aware of them you will become. Not only that but the more aware you will become of patterns within your dreams. Things that might point at hidden desires, thoughts, feelings, even abilities. The things that come through your dreams are not magickal. You already know what you know. But many times you just are not even aware of all that you know in the first place.
