Hello all,
I go by the name knotworker or fairfax, I practice traditional witchcraft but now I am studying ceremonial magick specifically the goetia. I love to read, I grow mandrakes and I bind books in the old way with sewn cords. I am looking forward to contributing. If there are any questions just ask (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

What are the measurements of these books you make? What are the front and back covers comprised from? What about the spine? Do you have a picture of one of your works? Are you willing to sell some? If so, what price? How far are you willing to ship?

I have made a few small books which I don't have with me at the moment the larger books I have made are 9 inches by 5 3/4 inches, the width of the book depends on the number of pages. Books with around 224 pages I have put brass clasps, on the larger ones I put brass and leather straps on. The covers are comprised of a very thin but durable compressed board, but I am currently making a smaller book with solid poplar boards. This smaller book is 5 1/2 by 4 1/4. The books spines are glued and then cover with leather. The raised sewn cords give added strength to the book making its life much longer and leaving it looking like a medieval codex. The books are bound in black or brown leather.

The price would really depend on what the book is made out of , the best goatskin leather is very expensive but can be attained. There is also the question of what what type of paper you would want common printer paper is the cheapest but high quality "parchment" paper looks great and doesn't have much acid and last a really long time. The color of the endpapers and book ribbon also vary but I generally have them match. I could make a book specially for you and the price would vary on what you want. I am making a smaller book now, mentioned above . Its parchment paper and its going to be bound in black leather but the books endpapers and ribbon colors are still undecided. This small book would be cheaper but look really great. Its 196 pages. I could probably ship anywhere in the US and Ohio but I am not sure about over seas.

I was not able to post the pictures of the books in the message but I made a personal album where they can be viewed.

At first I thought "Akron" was a corruption of Acheron, one of the rivers of the greek underworld, but then I just googled it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/doh.gif)
