Just pointing people to an interesting article reviewing Geosophia by Aaron Leitch over at scarlet ScarletImprint. They publish some decent books on occult topics that often perk my interest. This review covers shamanistic aspects of Solomonic texts as developing from necromancy, Egyptian archiving of mystery schools, Babylonian religion and how they all shaped medieval grimoires.

The book itself is a little long for the point it is making, but in making its point it covers in detail a lot of interesting information so it is worth the page count.

From the website's blurb:
"This is a work which redefines our understanding of the Western tradition, one which does not begin with Cabbala or Solomon, but rather descends into the Underworld and brings forth new life. JSK illuminates scarce and overlooked texts with an incisive commentary, from volcanic conjurations to over 70 pages dealing with Picatrix. Following the voyage of the Argonauts, Geosophia offers biographies of the heroes and gods, and discovers the hidden magical meanings and significance of their actions and adventures."

--------------------
Cosmic consciousness is devoid of diversity; yet the universe of diversity exists in notion....
We contemplate that reality in which everything exists, to which everything belongs,
from which everything has emerged, which is the cause of everything and which is everything....
The light of [this] self-knowledge alone illumines all experiences. It shines by its own light.
This inner light appears to be outside and to illumine external objects.
