It will take a long time to learn, try practicing psionics or magic, why care to burn candles with the mind? It will come with time, do research, that's how I found out how to learn pyrokinetics, by searching and putting time in for it. Good luck.

QUOTE(Edunpanna @ Dec 30 2006, 10:25 PM) Greetings, Other than farting on the candle over an open flame you will never get that candle lit. Impossible. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) That coulld very well be true, it takes the average person atleast 20 years of incessant meditation and practice just to heat up objects with the hand chakras. I think it's better to concentrate on the more useful and "better" forms of magic such as how to defend yourself against attacks, travelling to other worlds and dimensions, healing the physical body as well as the spirit. There are no limits, but if you truly want to burn candles with your mind, we're talking about dedicated practice. Though it is possible. I don't think it's impossible at all. Hell, I've probably tried and practiced most forms of magick and or energy-related techniques for healing, attack, and defense, and have been (in my eyes)highly unsuccessful. I have so much chatter in my head at any given time, and am incredibly lazy with meditation and mind-control in general, and even so, I've been successful enough with only a couple of tries to move objects with my mind, attack people energetically, and cure some illnesses. Lighting a candle can't be that hard, if you think creatively. Try to figure out how fire starts, what is it that makes fire "fire". If you know how it works, then you can visualize it, transfer your conciousness to the candle, and start working the magick. Learn to invoke and control elemental fire enough in your own body then try to project your mind to the wick. Just some suggestions there, try to work on invoking fire. There are some pretty bad side-effects to that sometimes (I got terrible ulcer pains for a week once because of that) but I think it's really mostly due to the fact that we need to keep an even balance of those elements. Good luck (IMG: style_emoticons/default/bigwink.gif)

Try the below exercises:
The Dancing Flame The best way to develope and train your Pyrokinesis skills is a technique called the dancing flame. Get in a relaxed position, and grab a match. Light the match on fire and focus on the flame. Create a "tunnel" between you and the flame. Now visualize the flame going out. You must be focusing on only the flame. With enough will power, and hard concentration, the flame will go out. Putting a flame or fire out is the easiest part of Pyrokinesis. Making the flame or fire relight is the hard part. Once you can make the flame burn out, Focus on the flame relighting. After a few weeks of doing this, you will notice that once the flame is out, you will be able to see the ember start to turn red again as though it wanted to relight. Once you practice enough, it will relight. This is the easiest way to develope and train Pyrokinesis. This techique does work.
Lighting a Candle Pyrokinesis may be accomplished by concentrating on, the wick of a candle. After going through the usual preliminary procedures, eg. meditation, visualize the wick as being made up of many thousands of swirling dots or spheres. As you visualize them, see them swirling faster and faster, and as they swirl faster and faster, feel them becoming hot...becoming hotter and hotter until they glow like miniature suns. When the dots are glowing brightly, bring part of your focus back to the wick as a whole, while still seeing and feeling the excited molecules. See the wick as a whole become hot and start to glow. Then, visualize it bursting into flame, perhaps accompanied by some sort of gesture, such as a flick of the hand or a snap of the fingers, if you are feeling dramatic. You may find that it is helpful, at least at first, to produce a psi ball around the wick while attempting this, not so much for sake of the energy as for concentration. It may also be helpful by way of preparation, to focus on an already-lit candle and use your mind to change the shape or movement of the flame; concentrate on the base of the flame, the faintly glowing blue part.

-> Skeptism mode on its all easy to invent and write such techniques to develop these practises. I could probably write a whole book about pyrokineses without actually being able to do it. Wich is why i ask, does anyone know someone that can perform these techniques(and has actually seen it), or is there anybody here that can truly perform this technique. And i'm not talking about seeing the embers turn red, i can do that to if i blow a little air over them. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/angel.gif)

(IMG: style_emoticons/default/angel.gif) Pyrokinesis is a form of Psychokinetics, which does actually work. If you want to make it work you need good concentration and willpower to begin with. The way it works is that you become "one" with the object which you are trying to effect. It's not a very illustrious art in the magic community, nor is it very useful, but it is very possible, I've seen it with my eyes. I can do it with smoke and energy (as can you from what I've read of your posts), it's the same concept, becoming somewhat one with that which you are trying to effect, and "willing it" to do that which you want. Psychokinetics are the same concept, just that you need more skill to bring change in heaver or larger objects, it's the same force used in Star Wars. Just like going to the gym and working out, working on your psychokinetic skills is also essential for making bigger things move, or burn, or even electricute them. We all have this power within us, but few of us choose to induce it. If you have any questions about this you can pm me, I can give you exercises which will prove it within a week. ps. Skepticism is good. "Always question, believe nothing until proven"

Greetings 'esoterica, I woke up this morning and something strange happened. I flushed the toilet and the lights went out. I tried to turn the lights back on and the toilet flushed. I grabbed the remote to turn on the TV and give me a little light so I could see what was going on. As I mashed the remote garage doors all over the block began to open and close erratically. Actually none of that happened I just made it up. (IMG: style_emoticons/default/happydance.gif) I would think it remotely possible to change the channel without a remote. Especially if Mr. Whiskers steps on it at exactly the right time. I am gonna be a dork hole here and stand my ground. That match is not gonna light. There may be some people who are born with such abilities. <Rosie Odonell for example can light matches with her severe ugliness.> However I do not believe that such abilities can be learned. Well, i have no problem in believing the little things. like bending a flame or at a heightened state moving around smoke a little. But to actually lite a fire with your mind i find it hard to believe. People seem to be able to do the little things and take that as proof that the big thing must be possible. That is why i was wondering if there is someone, who can at will, light a candle. Not just bend the candle or its smoke, but set it aflame from nothing. Also, i would love some practises, if its possible i think it would be a neat trick for partys and stuff like that. Guarantied succes (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

Guarantied succes (IMG: style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif) It's the same concept, but with more practice it's possible. If you want practices pm me I have the best and workable ones. I can get the candle to light up as if it were to ignite, but that's as far as I can go for now, and this is after dedicated practice after about 2 weeks. If you really want to learn I can help with the basics and up. Kundalini energy can also be used, the Chinese monks were told to sleep on the mountains where there was snow and when they awoke the snow all around them had melted. Actually if you want to see how it works here is a video which shows a man doing pyrokinesis: PyrokineticsThe only difference is that he uses the power of his hand chakras.
