when i was little (3-4 years), i had a strange experience. i remember it very clearly, not as the rest of my childhood.
my mom told me it few years ago.

every night my mom woke me up and asked me what is wrong- i simply asked her to give me somethimg to drink, becouse my mouth was like sand. when she gave me to drink, i went back to sleep. i didnt think it was something serious.
when i was four, every morning when i woke up, the light was on.
i thaught i had accidently turned it on in sleep. it was right beside my bed. so did my parents think, so one night they glued the switch with that (i dont know hows it called) little sticky plastic paper. in the next morning, the light was on again. but the switch was still glued!!! i thaught i had switched it on somehow, but then i had to take the "paper" off, turn it on and then put it back!!! all- while i was sleeping! all by four years old boy in the upper bed (you know those beds, that are in jails in movies (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) ).
so lets get back to my wakeing up every night. my mom told me, that every night, i dnt know in what clock, she had heared me screaming. when i woke up, at first i was like confused. really confused, i was like in some kind of autopilot. and then i, like, turned back to normal and didnt understand what was she doing there. she told me that she thaught i had a nightmare. i KNOW i had a nightmares. but i dont think they were simple nightmares, when brains show you images of the days experience. i think now becouse of experience im haveing sometimes eaven now. you know the strange feeling of "deja wo"? usually people simply has a strange feeling they cannot explain. i can. i saw these situations in my dreams. i remember few times i had woken up and remembered the dreams very clear. as if it had really happened. it was last saturday when we were at one party, with my family. i was simply sitting and then it happened. this feeling. i remembered the phrase of one man. i remembered it from my dream, i had few days ago. i know it, im sure about it.

can you help me to make these things stronger??? to remember the dreams im haveing at night, that i cant remember? i think im haveing them eaven now, im just not scared of what im seeing anymore. im used to things that made me shout and wake up in swet when i was child. ive became stronger. i had an idea- maby if i learned how, i could control the happening in dreams. sleep- the strangest and mysterious thing on this world.

with all the respect, janis.

Meditation and what you eat can certainly boost the about of dreams you have. Read an article on lucid dreaming and try some methods to help induce them. Hell, you could even go all out and try Astral Projection(since I saw you want to control your dreams). You could also keep a dream diary and whenever you have a dream wake up(not always do you realize its a dream your having) or as soon as you wake up, write it down in your dream diary. Later on these can be a link to your past and help you understand the dreams you had. And I mean LATER on haha.

Alot of children suffer night terrors, it can be due to an overactive imagination, or you actually sensed things in your sleep, being more sensitive at that time to them.

And there's sleep walking, another common habit picked up by millions.

Changing your diet is definately good advice...it's been know that for someone who eats veggies or fruits instead of sweets and salts before bed, have better, more empowering dreams.

Not to be mean, but it's a deja vu, hun (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) .

With dream work, you can use a variety of techniques, placing wormwood underneath your bed to help induce prophetic dreams is a minor one (dont forget to charge the herb, though!, and DO NOT ingest), and then there is keeping the tried and true dream journal next to your bed, and as soon as you wake up, not a minute later, write down what you dreamed of. It will still be fresh in your mind, so jot down major points that you think will trigger the visuals later on.

meditation is wonderful, for it strengthens the mind, and a strong mind finds it's easier to grasp any lucidity or dreams that attempt to flit away as soon as they can.

One technique I've yet to try but would like to is from the a pretty recent lleywellyn almanac. Get a key (preferably a skeleton key) and look at just before you go to sleep. When you're dreaming imagine an archway with a locked door. See yourself use the skeleton to open the door and thereby becoming concious within the dream as well as opening a door and revealing something or another.

If you really want to become more prophetic in your dreaming why don't you buy a crystal ball and start getting into other kinds of divinations as well. Buy a tarot deck, make some divining runes etc etc. After that become skilled in their use. Then you would be living your dreams.

It varies from person to person. Myself, it took me almost 12 years to be able to finally understand how to open and use my abilities to their fullest. Another 3 years, and I'm still very good, but not how I aim to be yet.

You have to be patient, and very persistant. And honest. Honesty with yourself on this matter will only give you a better road for success. (Not being honest creates negative energy, which blocks and prevents)

Power isn't so important, it's skill that makes a difference. To become skilled can take anywhere from a single year to ten years with regular practice. The more time you devote to it the more you'll get back.

Dear Bomzay , when you have nightmares you project into lower parts of the astral plane that are more infernal in their nature. You do that unconsciously and when something bad happens there it wakes you up a little so you remember. There are some inner matters that you need to clarify and some darkness to deal with in order to be freed of those influences.

As for the psychic abilities the time completely varies from person to person.
Years need not to pass. It depends upon your methods of training , dedication and spiritual maturity.

Time bears little relevance. It is important for you to walk your path with dedication , and to always seek. Then you will find your effords to be rewarded even more then you expected.

Define really powerful and we can narrow it down for you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
This is so subjective I know but, it depends entirely on the person. I have met folks that have been at it 20 yrs and don't feel very powerful, and I have met folks who have been at it only a few years and feel really kick ass!
Depends a lot on how much work you do at it, how much you overcome your personal blockages and crap, and how well you can connect and meditate (in my not so humble opinion).
At least 5 yrs, kinda powerful (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) but you think you know all, are adept LOL. At 10 yrs, quite a lot more powerful, but you have the sense to know you still have a long way to go. At 15 yrs even more kickass, but you don't care about how powerful anymore LOL. Past that, well I don't know. I have met folks who have been at it 30 + yrs, and they really feel powerful at magic! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Pardon? Can you explain why aloy of people HAVE taken years to develop their abilities? Including myself, who is Very dedicated to my work and development, Libra with a Pisces Moon (both a major psychic influence), and tons of researching, experiments, and practice? And all through that, it didn't take less than a year. I took almost 12, 15 if you want to include the idea that I'm still maturing with my gifts.

One psychic I worked with, he was absolutely phenomenal, dead on accuracy, told me that no matter how long you are in this business, you'll never stop growing. 45 years he's been doing what he does, and he had admitted to learning a few things from me when I stepped into the place.

It could take a week for someone to discover their abilities and strengths, but a lifetime of dedication and practice to build on it.

Many people learn quickly when they are under the tutelage of a very good teacher. Though a teacher alone won't make it so, a really good teacher might also mean it will take longer than most.

You may want to consult Herr Doktor Freud's book The Interpretation of Dreams, which is very readable and conscise, with a great many examples. It's not the least bit mystical, but I've found that an acquaintance with the mundane mechanics of dreaming helps to put the more oesoteric aspects into a more fulsome perspective
