Voodoo Magick Options

As i've lurked about in the forums i've not found a subject associated with Voodoo magick, after all it can gain some interests and open some eyes. Im not the expert in Voodoo, nor in any form of magick but i'd fain bring a topic about it here as it seems to be unnoticed. Now im not sure if Voodoo is more closely associated with Sorcery or with Witchcraft, or if it's just another form of its own, but i think its a very ancient art which shouldn't be shunned from. The little i know about it is that it( i think ) originated from Northern Africa, but i do however know its very powerful. Any insight or experiences with Voodoo?

Voodoo is still widely practiced within African tribal cultures. (my new pet project). There is however a very large gap between traditional Voodoo and modern Voodoo. This is largely due to the fact that many of the African traditions have not come into contact with christianity. You will find that a lot of the brutality used in traditional Voodoo has faded from modern Voodoo. A good example of this is human sacrifice. Where this practice is still common in traditional Voodoo it has all but faded from from the modern version. Hope this was of help.

As a practitioner of Santeria I can tell you that the reason there are no posts is because any practitioner of any afro-caribbean religion is very secretive & doesn't share his (or her) practices. So, don't expect any hardcore information on the subject unless you look hard for practitioners & become an initiate.

I'll do research on Voodoo and try to post some of my own facts for discussion. Good info thus far.

Voodoo isn't something you do reaserch on, like grimoiric magic. There aren't any voodoo grimoires out there. You want info? Find a local Botanica & talk to the workers there.

i would just like to add that if you are really interested don't be put off if people are unwilling to speak to you. It toolk me 3 months of painstaking interviews and a flight to northern congo before i got any usefull intel. If you persist you should get results.

Actually i do plan on visiting many countries and learning about their Magick but I thought it would help to add some missing things to the forum.
