I'm glad to have found this wicked forum. Lurked only for a day before joining.
I am a published author (novelist and non-fiction) who inevitably weaves Tarot structure and magic into scenes. As gray as Gandalf in the hair (actually, more silver, no beard), I have floated between disciplines, from ceremonial to Tibetan to pagan since I was a teenager, before I realized I'm just plain old Chaos (now, in my middle years). I'm too creative and cantankerous to follow any historical path. I do remain eastern in my approach, but tend to blend western and eastern. I find many aspects of Tibetan magic (Bohn and Buddhist) very Chaos-oriented. Actually almost everything Chaos is directly paralleled in Tibetan magic.
I am a nut about all-things Thoth-tarot, and almost always build my novel characters around Tarot trump archetypes. I enjoy positive creation of any kind (Chaos-leaning or not, I believe in karma), and I"m about a hundred to a thousand lifetimes away from any hint of enlightenment -- but having fun in the meantime! Servitors and Sigils turn me on (pathetic, no? -- you'd think I'd be into tantric sex).
All is real.
Mezu
P.S. Mezu is my beloved "wrathful" aspect of Avalokitesvara, in sanskrit Hayagriva, the king of magic science. Note the emphasis on science. Tibetan's tend to think of magic as science. Not that I'm Tibetan. Maybe in a past life? Who knows? One day I'll try to find out.
