I have been trying to become aware that I am dreaming when I am:but the only thing that has occured is that my dreams are more real and rememberable.
I've been writing "am i Dreaming" on my hand and when ever I look at it I try to see if I am. For some reason or another I don't seem to do this in my dreams. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/chair.gif) Any tips on how to gain control?

I never wrote it on my hand. Just look at my hands and ask myself if im dreaming through the day. It worked well but i had to do it like 15 to 20 times a day. and for gods sake make sure no ones around lol.
Read about it and flood your sub-concious with the idea that you will awake in a dream. Also read "The art of dreaming" by carlos castaneda. He is amazing but expect to find some road blocks just like in books on magic. The way he explains how to pass through certain gates and completing your energy body was good knowledge to have. Dont get derailed for some people dreaming is a lifes work. And just from much study it seems to be like a wave, some times your on it and others not so much. I suppose thats the stars and moon and lunar cycles and depressed days or low energy days that make that so. AS you study the waves get closer and closer together until finally you are able to do as you like almost all the time.

Greetings,

Enochian is correct about the technique. It worked for me. If you look at your hands often in the day then in your dream you will do the same thing. I believe its called dream projection. If you think a lot about exactly what you want to happen in the dream it will be much easier once you become lucid. Usually I realize I am dreaming because I am flying. And if I am flying it has to be a dream right? Lol.

If you realize you are dreaming you must resist the urge to wake up. Which is normally what happens. You can change things in the dream once you are lucid but the changes have to be slow. If you try to do anything too fast you will wake up.

Good luck!

As a technique that is more commonly known as a "reality check".

Maybe I am trying to hard, but I have been looking at the back of my hands and doing another check and they have not happened in my dreams yet. I have done it like 20+ times a day for the past 1 month already. How long did it take for you to start having the habit carried over into your dreams?

Prior to doing regular reality checks I have been off and on trying to induce lucid dreams through other ways for the past couple of years...to no avail.
