master rishi's post caused me to think, and think hard, about whom i serve and why, and being able to express it plainly

while i have a lot of 'friends' that i call on occasionally, i do not 'serve' them per se, nor do i stick with just one - i have my life's mission as we all do, and i have given my allegiance to a base concept that i feel is at the heart of all our creation (kneeling, sword in hand with the hilt ready for their grasping, but they just smiled and touched the hilt with their fingers indicating that they accepted my service but that i was bonded to another as yet unknown to me), but as for a particular deity or entity, no, i do not serve so

i have asked and looked for many, many years, and some have tried to claim me, but it is always proven quickly that they don't, usually by time and circumstance, so i thought chronos at one time, but that was proven false as well, so i made up my own deity that embodied the many-faceted and outside-of-time concepts of the energy involved, the true 'unknown god' (or goddess)

perhaps i will return to my one true love when i die for the last time

so whom do you serve (are bonded to) and why?

e.

Seems I am bound a bit to Enki, but it's weird as of reasons...

It just...seemed to fit. I drew character parallels. He's intellectual, I am as well. He likes to build/create/implement, so do I. In fact, I was infatuated with Steel Tech™ and Erector™ sets, not to mention Lego™ until I was the ripe age of 16. Whenever I built, sometimes I would stop almost 70% of the way to completion, just because an epiphany of more efficient structure design would dawn onto me. In one day, I would have a project evolve up to 8 times before I called it a masterpiece of work.

I like juryrigging things if I think it can work, my childhood hero was MacGyver, and lo and behold, who is a hallmark of ingenuity that I behold with my experience? Enki. *shrug*

It's like we ran together with alot of things, so I just have a REALLY close association with him. Some things, though, are my own, so thats why I keep it at me being a "subordinative associate," I do jobs for him or whatever, dreamscape missions, plans, rituals, feasts of honor...heck, even theorums to bring knowledge back to the people by means of drawing parallels to magick, science, and making a bridge between the two!

Service? I would serve the Tao, or to the Aramaic proto-christians, Abwoon.

mm all, and boy do i have some news!

thank you all so much for pointing me toward the great lord enki, for without your influence i wouldn't have looked to him for the answer to my nagging problem of whom did i serve

well, leave it to 'the great lord of the land, sea and sky' to resolve my nagging problem with a simple twist of my brains - i was deeply feeling the loss of not having a known master (ronin) when i my depression, i loosely spoke to the great lord and asked about who i belong to, and he said, clear as a deep-toned bell, 'you are of the valley spirit' - i recognized the words immediately and they rung so true i cried and cried and put out a huge chunk of beer-marinated roast beef (all that i had!) for his consumption (and thanks for the ideas on that too)

how could i have been so blind for so many years! perhaps it was the xtian brainwashing of my youth, but i thought i had rid my subconscious of the xtian vermin, but whatever it was it was a very deep blockage - did he break some long held spell, or kick in some long-locked door? i am eternally grateful to the great lord of earth. sea and sky! life! health! prosperity! may your children prosper and your wives not sour!

the valley spirit never dies, it is the earth, primal mother - es (wave) ter (terra) ka (life) ki (duh!) ga (gaia) - its all there - so why couldn't i see it before? why and how was it blocked its weird though, the roman gaea still holds a small amount of disgust surrounding her - this is deep-set and must be investigated!

again many thanks to all, for without your words i would not have looked and i would still not have known - this is such a tremendous moment in my life! - i shall withdraw for a while to investifgate this, and thank you all again

es.

Going to try and resurrect this thread, as I think it could be awesome if more people participated in it.

I've heard one particular Goetic spirit, Marbas, being mentioned a few times as someone some people are apparently associated with a bit more closely than usual. I also know a couple of people offline who worship the Aesir, one of whom was apparently spontaneously approached by Thor...which I think would have been an awesome experience.

I'm curious...are there a lot of people here who really play the field where godforms are concerned, rather than forming one particular solid association? I'm curious to know about the comparitive benefits of that approach, as opposed to having one (or a few) particular godform(s) who you deal with on a regular basis.

Servitude implies weakness! Bonds mean limitation!
I serve not and am bound to none, for they are concepts which exist only in the mind.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/badmood.gif) ...or so I'd like to think, though really, I probably serve that which I identify as me and am likely bound to my feelings.

You're right, Seeker...but I think it's ok to love some godforms if we want, or have them as friends. Some of them are awesome. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/gleam.gif)

I serve my family my country and myself in that order. Serving Gods to me seems pointless because either they like you or don't. So why try to kiss ass when you can use that time for more productive means. I do believe in "god" forms. BUt I don't think they influence us based on how much we suck up to them; rather the deeds we commit. I think our actions, the choices we make as humans are far more incluencial than some rite honoring a god. And I don't mean to offend anyone you may worship how you choose. I just don't agree with many of the ways people worship their gods.

Luke 6:46 - "Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and do not do what I say?" (IMG:style_emoticons/default/Symbols_1911.gif)

Another way I heard it put once is that the most effective way to worship the Goddess is to become the Goddess...in terms of behaviour etc.

This is a principle which in practical terms, I need to remember a lot more often. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/004.gif)

"Be the Miracle..." I like that. In a similar sense, that would mean my life's mission is one of the path of a scholar, then. Makes sense to me.
