I think it depends from one person to the next. But think it looks and feels sort of like a realistic dream where you are outside your body and able to explore the world as though you were in your body.

Imo , The Astral Planes are the middle realms they appear ethereal green to me and have no sky or ground . Above them is the Akashic Plane which is dremlike but temporarily stable having building which can be explored . Above that are the Higher Planes which are full colored and temporarily stable having temples , ashrams , rivers and mountains ie Shamballah . Below the astrl are the earthly plane the etheric around the earthly plane ., the Real Time Zone and the lower planes ie totemic and Magico Elemental planes .
