I've started a thread (as kalindoscopy) about kenosis: any gnostics/qabalists willing to contribute their thoughts (here or there) to the argument? Other angles would be interesting

Ave,

You should have possibly explained the term "kenosis" and given a bit more info in order to get more replies. However, I am both a Gnostic and Qabalist, so I will make some initial comments:

"kenosis", which means "emptiness" or "emptying" could be likened to the Pleroma of the Gnostics, which is, while a Fullness, a kind of paradoxical empty fullness. Likewise for Qabalists there are the Three Negative Veils of Existence: Ain, Ain Soph, and Ain Soph Aur, Nothing, the Limitless, and the Limitless Light. These, especially the first, would correspond well to the Pleroma, and also represent a kind of empty fullness. It is a state of "nothing", but it contains everything else. This is what occurs, in essence, when we become silent and "empty ourselves" - the emptying allows us to become full.

LLLSHJ,
Yechidah.
