Hi everyone

I'm Paul and I'm wet behind the ears. I've been sidling crablike towards magick for a while because of various things I've been into which have been nudging me in that direction: Eastern mysticism, the writings of people like Robert Anton Wilson and Christopher S. Hyatt, a brother who has got me intrigued by Tarot and Crowley.....

It's quite a difficult thing to know where to start with this stuff as I find that a lot of texts (eg. Hyatt's) assume a background knowledge and a terminology that I don't really posess. I'm hoping that browsing around this forum might start to fill lin some of the gaps for me.

Basically I have very little experience in Magick (but quite a lot in meditation and am used to exploring the workings of my own mind), but I am entirely open and posess a healthy enthusiasm. Hopefully that'll do for starters.

Love

Paul x (IMG:style_emoticons/default/banana.gif)

Welcome enitharmon

Your situation isn't unique. Actually, everyone here has been through it and are pretty cool with it. You might find some files here in the forum. There are also thread with links to other resources. There is a lot of research ahead for you, but you mention having a background in meditation. Those skills ought to carry over somewhat.

Don't worry. It'll only seem kinky the first time.

You can feel confident you'll learn a lot here, as Goibniu said. When I first came here I was barely 13. Needless to say, I've learned enough to fill several books since then. The community is very helpful and just by reading through the posts you're bound to learn volumes of information (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Just thought I'd leave that tip for ya.
