i tried astral projection lying down, 20 minutes in i got a swaying sick feeling like sea sickness, then later on saw a vision of my own face then i snapped out of the relaxation.
is this close to astral projection? are these events natural in the process.
has anybody got any tips to get into the astral world following from where im at (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

The swaying and the vision of your own face are both common indicators that you're on the cusp. All you can do, though, is just relax and try not to snap out of it. The shock of shifting awareness out of the body is one of the big hurdles when you first start astral projection practice. You'll get there, just keep at it without expecting the same thing to happen. Stay relaxed, observe everything happening without trying to push it too much.

It helped me to spend a little time before hand working up my energy - I did MP, LBRP, Immersion in the Force, and then meditation for a bit to get used to 'losing' my body. Then before I get up from meditation I simply tell myself what to do - I'm going to project tonight. I'm going to lay down, and I am going to be free of my body. Then when I lay down I simply tell myself, Now it's time to project.

This makes it easier to observe without pushing. Astral projection is what you're doing, everything that happens is just part of that process. It helped me to be more relaxed about everything that happened and kept me from being surprised by it.

It's one of the greater limits of human experience I would say, not just magic. Nothing looks the same after the first few successful attempts. The only experience more profound would probably have to be experiencing union with the Force.

Worth keeping at until you get it, for sure. Don't give up!
