I had a successful evocation of the 33ed name of Marduk from the Necronomicon tonight. I have worked with Nec spirits before but always using classic methods or the by using the spell book but this time I decided to use the methods outlined in the Nec itself. I was more than a little nervous since using the watcher is something I said I would never do but I figured it was well past time for me to do so.

I have been prepairing for this ritual for several days. Mainly by compiling a hand written copy of the Necronomicon with special alterations of my own in a nice journal book. I took a ritual bath and said the Preliminary Purification Invocation to Ishtar found inside the Nec. I put on my ritual garments and wrapped a silver amulet of protection around my right wrist. I purified my working space by using the invocation also found in the book and spread salt sixty times as required.

Instead of using lime or flour I drew upon the concrete the double circle and the mandal using side walk chalk along with the seals of the four gates. I then sat in my circle and prayed for protection and success. I followed this with the LBRP and the LBRH using the rod of Lapis Lazuli as a wand. I then finished up with a hermetic invocation. From the light of a single candle I faced each direction and recited the invocations of the four gates. As this was done I could feel a cone of force pressing down and around me. Interesting feeling.

I sprinkled water as a testament to the covenant to Enki. I had prepared a bowl for the sacrifice to the watcher, filling it with pine chips and far too much lighter fluid. I lit the incense and threw a match into the offering bowl. I had a nice two foot flame to greet me as I recited the conjuration of the fire god. Once it was finished the bowl began to spit flames all around. I threw in the sacrifice of bread and Olieribos grass. After the conjuration of the watcher things began to get interesting. For about two seconds which seemed like an eternity after I finished the call I actually was beginning to think nothing was gonna happen. The suddenly every insect in ear shot went silent. The watcher had arrived. He didn’t seem to have a form from what I could tell but he was constantly going around the circle in both directions at once very fast. The double circle seemed to swell and get fat. That is the best way I can describe it.

I instructed him in his duties and received only silence. I then called Zulum. He appeared much easier than spirits have in the past for me. He looked like a green and red ball, but tiny compared to the watcher. I told him what I wanted and the constraints on how he went about it. I then pushed my book into the double circle with him and asked him to swear upon his sigil to come whenever I called and to never harm myself or anyone I love. I was very surprised. He did not try to argue or mislead or even seemed upset about having to do it. He was just so matter of factly. When he swore upon the sigil I could see a shadow hover over the page, not astrally but physically. That was a new experience for me.

I finished up and banished with no problems. I have to say as nervous and worked up as I was before this working, it ran smooth as silk. I am very surprised. Now that it is over I have an odd lingering feeling. When working with angels I am often left with a feeling of peace and joy after the fact. After this working I do not feel bad or evil but it is a feeling very similar to nervous energy, but not the same thing. Curious.

That was very interesting. Can't say that I've done the whole shazam with the watcher and all yet, but it sure as Hell sounds good. One thing though, when working with the pre-primevil/singularity forces of the Necronomicon is it wise to use monotheistic banishing rituals such as the LBRP and the LBRH? I have found that I get much better results when using banishings that involve no God/esses such as the GBRP or personally constructed BR's. The LBRP and the LBRH are also both meant to be useless when working with the Nec entities.

I have had a 'sudden silence' experience when I evoked Ziku in the depths of the wood near the cricket field near where I live. It was quite unnerving.

May I ask, where do you practice your magic? Have you got a basement or do you go to disused warehouses etc to chalk out your circles? My main problem at the mement is that the one place I had to do rituals like that was torn down and my shed is a) made of wood and b) carpeted lol.

Yes the sudden silence did unnerve me as well. At night the crickets and all are always so loud but you do not notice them because it is a constant background noise. When they suddenly go silent it can spook you.

No usually I practice my daily rituals in a spare bedroom of my house, but this was a special case where I actually have a concrete pad off from my back porch. My backyard is fenced in so I noone could see but I was worried that someone might see my flames and call the fire department. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)

BTW here are some pics if you are interested.

Cool! I have the gates printed on paper and I place them on the four walls of my shed when I'm working in there...I hate my living situation. No circle as such, cast that mentally when I banish. If I had a digital camera I'd post some pics.

Cool!!! That evocation of that entity as described was very interesting! I know I have a long way until evocation(I have yet to do the LBRP daily for 6 months, going to start tommorrow) but when I do I will try to do some of the Nec entities. But that ritual of yours was very interesting. I have one question though. When you do the circle is it better to visualize it or to physically draw it? Because if I do the visualize the circle, I would forget about it after a while (I am forgetful (IMG:style_emoticons/default/blush2.gif)) and then I would go crazy if the entity would attack (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wacko.gif)! But, thanks for the info! Oh the pics were great too!
Thanks,

Normally I just use a astral circle for such work but the Nec is a different animal. I try and stick with the outline the book gives which is generally best with all the grimories so in my Nec work I use a physical circle. A double circle drawn out with chalk works well.

Thanks for the reply, and I would probably do what the book says, I'm getting it in a bit. But when I do I would do what the book says, but anything else unless I need to specifficaly do something for it, I would use a double-chalk drawn circle.
Thanks,

Results:

It took one month for the results I had requested to appear. I recieved what I asked for but I should have been more specific. There was a certain legal matter I wanted resolved quickly and to not be harmed by it. It could have turned out better but it was resolved much sooner than it should have been, I'm talking years, and I was not hurt by it, so I must admit success.

Just a follow up....

Well after a week of practising solar meditation, banishing and cleaning up my ritual space. I did my first first Nec summoning. Two nights before full moon and my birthday which happens to fall on full moon lol.

It was strange. I couple of time i had to read the text because my memory failed me but i felt the watch tower gates open. It felt cool on a hot night like tonight. I thought when i called one of the 50 the candles dimmed somehow but i was concentrating so hard it could have been my imagination. So could the sound of hot water pipes I could have sworn i kept hearing evey so often during the ritual. I decided against conjuring the Fire God nor the Watcher for my first time out.

However i am not sure this could be considered a physical manifestation but right after i did the solar banishing wave and extinguished the candles. I was about to leave the circle. I heard a loud tick tock sound about 2 feet away NE of my position. 3 times Tick Tock Tick Tock Tick Tock. Very loud about 2 or 3 times as loud as normal speech. So i did another banishing and meditated on setting the whole area on fire. until i felt it was safe.

Now i know what you mean by a strange feeling kinda of a nervous energy but not fearful but like my chakras are tingling. Outwardly i feel a kind of calm in a way. I know this sounds contradictory but it is the best way i can describe it.

Anyway I will let you know about the results. Thank You all for all your help (espeially Nero) I am glad I did my research before attempting this. So sorry if i posted this in the wrong thread it seemed right at the time.

BTW My left shoulder has been sore for about a month but i feels fine now, but this could be just a phase, keep you posted on that too.
