My name is Danica-Christine and I'm an eclectic Witch from South Africa initiated into the traditional path of African Witchcraft. I desire to learn all I can of the magickal plane, especially the paths of Chthonic (Hekatian), Druidry, Voodu, Dianic, etc.

This looks like a great place to learn.

You may be our first South African in the forum, although I can't say for sure. I expect that the form of Voodou you might come across there would be an older, purer form than what we have here. You will find people who have experience with a wide variety of magical systems and skills here. Have a look around, ask questions, and share what you know when the spirit moves you. Maybe you will find some friends.

Yes, the African Witchcraft practiced here is what the indigenous folk practiced prior to the colonization of South Africa. However, additions like the Christian God have been added to its practice amongst those who identify with Him, but many do not and pretty much keep their practices un-changed.

For me, however, I mix it with European Witchcraft since my roots are Dutch and I find deep oneness with a Pantheistic path of Nature (mainly Trees), Moon/Planetary, etc., worship.
