Question about Sexual orientation Options

I've been reading over all the information on this site, (It is really cool!) but I am wondering about somethings I have been seeing. Of the several Goetic spirits talked about, who deal in matters of love etc. It always speaks about man to woman and woman to man. I am wondering about those who are more inclined toward same sex interests, are they out of luck with the Goetic spirits? or is that just something the original writers of the goetia didn't consider? Has anyone had any experience in this area?

Magickal tomes are products of the times in which they are writen. More modern books, such as the works of Phil Hine, are much more enlightened in this respect. I suspect that the spirits and entities involved would respond to such matters with an open mind (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Maybe you should invoke a famous gay icon instead, either real or fictional.

Also, adding to what others have said, many of the terms and phrases in the Goetia and other grimoires are symbolic; they can be used at face-value, but many of the spirits hint at something else. The faces of demons are latex, and underneath this disguise are primordial beings. This may not be the case with all of them, but rings to for many. Ergo, what is said is not necessarily what is being said; man and woman and their union just might hint at something a little less physical.

In my experience it doesn't really matter the sex described in form or function. Some gods can appear as goddesses (see Quetzequatl/[Venus/Ishtar] or any of the spirits associated with venus/the mornign star) or the other way around (Athena/Pallas). And as far as I know the spirits that 'causeth any women to lie with the magician' are usually able to function under any interpretation of the terms, though some might balk about such things being outside their realm of influence.

It seems to me it depends on what mood they're in when you ask them. :)

I've gotten good responses from a few gods and goddesses (mostly goddesses) in regards to picking up other guys. Uhhh...not that I need magick to get a date. Really. Believe me :)
