Ose is mercury. Does any1 know where I can get sum mercury, does it even have to be made of mercury?
In truth one could not create a sigil in the same manner as the others are made (with gold, silver etc.) with Mercury. I feel this is one of the things that is overlooked in the Mathers/Crowley edition.
The main reason is that Mercury appears in a liquid state at room temperature. The Mercury is usually added to either silver, tin, or lead when the metal is nearly cooled thus creating a crude alloy.
Mercury nowadays can be a pain in the ass to find. It can be dangerous if ingested but if one is careful this usually isn't going to happen. I'm sure now with the combination of paranoia and stupidity rampant in the world it is probably extremely difficult to obtain.
Whether the sigil needs to be made of Mercury(alloy) is a matter of opinion. There are some other threads in this section that deal with the idea. I have yet to hear of someone actually making the sigils that fall under mercury in this way and they usually substitute silver or tin if they use metals at all.
If you decide you want to do this I will give you a hint on where to obtain pure usuable mercury.
At one time every building and often multiple rooms had some mercury "hidden" in plain sight within it. If a room has heat it has mercury present. I'll leave it at that.
