*BRP banishing dagger., (used to be: elemental banishing dagger) Options

Hello.

I have just a small and quick question, when choosing an elemental banishing dagger, which qualities should it have? (I guess any will do and that you don't really need cool symbols on it, but it should help atleast right? (with the focusing on what matters part...))

now, i feel that it doesnt do what i intend at all times, i was thinking that the energies may curve because its not a straight dagger, i'm pondering getting a new one that is more straight, any thoughts?

I think we are confusing whether we are discussing the elemental weapon for air(a dagger) or the steel dagger to be used for the LBRP. I am going to assume your are speaking of the steel dagger used for the LBRP but I think my comments will be appicable to either one.

It is confusing because you use the term elemental dagger where usually the dagger for the LBRP is simply referred to as the LBRP dagger or some other term since it doesn't actually command an element per say.


There are some great reasons for making your own weapons. You learn useful skills. I have a simple piece of flat steel, ground and sharpened.

So you have expanded your areas of knowledge outside of the magickal realm and within it.

Second and most important, you have created something that since it's inception is associated in your mind to be used SOLELY for magickal work.

You don't need to overcome any other associations (used for fish cleaning, armed robbery, etc.) because you have literally pounded your Physical, Intellectual, and Spiritual Will into the object.

This is the major reason I keep my weapons from the public. If you bring them out to show your friends they become associated in your own mind as knick knacks and toys.

So you might think of making, or finding a dagger that from it's inception is solely for magickal purposes. You can consecrate it in the same manner as any other weapon or talisman. (Even simply stating outloud "This dagger is duly consecrated to the Great Work.")

As a side note you may consider making or acquiring a SIMPLE steel dagger. The one you are using now is rather showy. You may find that you are better able to concentrate on the matter at hand (the ritual) when not distracted by the implements.
