I do it to centre myself, get clarity and to relax for the most part. With practice over the years I am able to slip into a light meditative state almost in any surroundings or situation if needed.
At times there is a specific reason for meditation for me - it has a purpose for something, or I'm using visualisation techniques for personal reasons or crafting purposes.
