Cemetaries, What have you noticed/experienced? Options

A friend and I like to hang out at cemetaries to feel the various energies and what not.

Well, we ran across this really old one, actually it was 2 cemetaries seperated only by about a 10 foot wide strip of grass.

One of them was a Catholic Cemetary, and the other was a Methodist Cemetary. Each one had a seperate gate, though you could walk from one to another inside the cemetary.

Anyhow, we entered on the Catholic side, I didnt notice anything odd. Then, I shifted consciousness a bit and blamo. The posts that mark the entrance gate had guardians. I was flabbergasted. I couldn't actually see them, but I could see the energies radiating from the cement blocks upon which they sat. I'd never seen anything like that at a cemetary before. We decided to see just what they were about so we walked across the barrier from cemetary to street. Once in the center I stopped. I wanted them to know that I knew they were there, I wanted to acknowledge their presence.

For someone that didn't have my shielding abilities, I might have been a bit worried as the affects from doing so could have been very traumatic for some. It was as if they were trying to attack the shield I have up at all times. There was a distinct pressure not only on my head, but also on my chest as if being crushed.

It's a good thing I shield naturally and always have , because if this would have continued without me knowing what was going on, the consequences could have been dire the way things were going. I seldom have to strengthen my shield, well this was one time in which I had to do so. As soon as I did the pressure let up but did not halt.

We decided to try the other gate on the Methodist side of the cemetary. Nothing. It was totally dead. We walked back to the Catholic side and they little buggers tried again...

We decided to leave, after getting into a discussion about the many cemetaries that we'd been to and seen and felt nothing of the sort before. So we headed off to the car and a sense of being followed as well as the feeling of pressure continued. It lasted for 5 minutes while we were driving away and we commented on it to eachother. Then it was simply gone. No lessening, just gone.

Needless to say it was the oddest cemetary experience that I've had in the numerous years that I've been hanging out at cemetaries. I usually go to relax and think, as well as observe. Usually, there are much different energies associated with some of the specific residents at some cemetaries. Ive never noticed guardians before. This was an entirely new experience for me and my cemetary dwelling habits.

One thing I should say is that we didn't bother trying to actually communicate with them. We just let them do their thing, as we did ours.

Have any of you noticed things like this before? Are they there from the consecration of the cemetary as guardians? Or did they just choose to be there and guard it? I suppose it could have been a combination of both. What are some of your cemetary experiences?

Interesting topic, I'll add my experiences.

First off, I live on one corner of a crossroads. There is an old cemetary on the opposite corner. While it's usually quite, from time to time my wife and I find ourselves "disturbed" by an entity or energy there, and go and perform a cleansing. This seems to happen with particularly tragic deaths. Don't know if it's the deceased's manifestation, or the energy left behind by those grieving. This cemetary does have a single guardian. His energies can mostly be felt near the center next to a large gazebo. Now, the way I understood it from him, every cemetary has a guardian. However, I never really could get a clear answer on just what they're there for, or why things get out of hand enough to require a cleansing every so often.

One of my hobbies is photography, been learning it as a tool to help with my art, but in the process have found it to be much more than that. My wife and I have begun taking trips recently to other cemetaries to photograph gravestones. She's in the process of comiling a website documenting symbolism used in gravestones, so we photograph a lot of them. Sure enough, I've felt a guardian presence at every cemetary we've been to. I've also felt varying degrees of rest and unease, as well as evidence of meddling with the energies of the cemetary, either by mages working for a true purpose, mages working for a malicious purpose, or a bunch of kids who want to be "scary" and drew a bunch of "satanic" symbols they found online on the gravestones and thought it'd be fun.

Again, what this guardians purpose is, or how he regards those I mentioned above has not been revealed to me. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/hmm.gif)
