Hello everybody,

I practice for few years but I'm quite new with goetic invocation. I now that some don't threat spirits with different rituals but prefer to call them as if the were deities.

Here is my point. In order to arrive to communicate with someone by email who could be a very interesting business contact but who lives abroad and in order to build a kind of friendship with this person, I chose to ask the help of Orobas. I can't tell you why exactly this spirit but it seemed to appear to me as a logic choice.

So I invoked the spirit, calling him with my own method, that is to say repeating a chant created for the occasion and holding his sigil in my hands. For a moment nothing but then I felt a lot of energy going through me as if I were connected to something. But Orobas never appeared. When I closed my eyes during the callings, I could see a countryside whith an horse running and coming to me. So I asked him if he could help me and he did not answer but ask me to put in a little bag his sigil, some droops of my blood, a malachite (green stone), one cristal and the rune ehwaz. I offered to him in exchange to his help to draw his sigil on a piece of wood with an hymn for him and to put it in a river. I felt as if he enjoyed the idea but here also no real agreement. I still felt the rush of energy, some green one. I took my tarot cards, the tarot of thot made by crowley, and when I picked up one card, it was "The devil". At the end I think that he agreeded but I am not sure now that it is over and that don't feel the energy anymore.

Have you any commentaries about this first invocation ? (I think it is always good to have the feedback of others).

Have you ever worked with Orobas ? What king of things did he ask in exchange ? How was your experience ?

Thanks by advance

Orpheus

Actually Orpheus, I'm a stickler when it comes to following the book about such things. And...I will always say that to the newbies. (Some here don't like being called newbie, for that, I apologise but to me most of you are newbies...)
Look, there are many ways to approach the subject of interaction between yourself and another entity. The use of a protective circle, etc. is up to you. It doesn't need to have god/angel names of power but it should be representative of what it stands for, an infinite line that clearly demarks your space from some other space. Please, let's not get to debating the philosophy of geometry right here and now...Actually, you don't necessarily require a circle at all...but I'm 'Old School'...
Like I mentioned earlier, know the difference between 'Invoking' and 'Evoking'. Both methods can be used with various degrees of success, it all depends on the magician and their preparations. Mostly: Know thyself! Else how are you going to understand when you are communicating with someone/thing else? Voices in your head can be problematic when you're not in control...
Know what you want, half formulated ideas can rarely be conveyed to another effectively...Be prepared, you should be ready for most all evetualities, for instance, if an entity is getting out of your control, can you either abort the summoning or can you reestablish control?
Orobas can be a relatively friendly entity to deal with, but don't let that fool you! Goetics can be very seductive and easy going when they are looking for a host that has something they can use! Please don't offer up Blood Sacrifice unless you absolutely must! By giving your own blood you can be assured that you just made a pact with him. Hopefully that will not hurt you...but you should look at this sort of thing before leaping into it with both feet!
On a final note...I applaud your innovative technique used. Creative and new approaches can be very successful. IMHO, I find that creativity in our line of work essential! It can also render you dead if you aren't careful. One of the better teachers on conjuring/summoning is a member here (who also has her own site) named Athena. She can be very short with newbies so if you are to question her, please research your question thoroughly before pestering her. She is very knowledgeable in her Art. She has her own methods when dealing with entities and you would do well to listen. Try looking up some of her threads here on Forum, you won't be disappointed! On that note, I'll shut up and let others speak. Thanks for bearing with me! Happy Adventuring! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/laugh.gif)
