Is it really necessary to follow the grimoire in evo/invocation?
Can we not design our own ritual?
That would be like trying to build your own car without first learning how to build one with the standard design. The reason that these grimoires and methodas are around is because they actually work. Just guess how many emails I get stating I have tried to evoke so and so and it didn't work. How can one create their own ritual unless they have tried the foundation magics and methods? Well I guess ifyou have 20 years experience at magic you could probably come up with something good, but before that, why not try some methods that work that were written by people who have been evoking their whole lives (IMG:

If you ook a couple of topics down in this section you will see my working with the Daemons article that is about as far away from the groimoires as one can get. If you do come up with your own method, please don't write a book about it until you have had success with it and perfected it for 10-20 years LOL. Damn I wish some authors went by this rule!
So I recommend trying a few different methods for quite a few years before coming up with your own method YOu will stay sane longer that way. Also, theory about magical practices most often seems irrelevant to how they actually work. Most often people want to devise their own evocation methods because the ones out there seem to difficult or long. Well this isn't the sandbox.
