Auras, How can you tell the difference Options

Had a quick question, and I didn't quite know where to put it, but here it goes. If you stare at an object for a long time then shift whatever you were looking at you will get what many consider an aura colour no matter what the background. If you stare at a person, no matter what the background (though it should, preferably be a lighter colour) you will get the same results. My question is how we should differentiate between auras that are produced by objects and auras that are produced by persons. The colours do indeed change in objects as much as they do for persons. For many, auras are considered definitive proof of the astral body encasing the soul. How do we defend this notion in light of the question at hand?

Since i've lurked around and couldn't find the exact answers ima post my question here:

I have many questions regarding one's aura. I recently found out that everyone has their own "colour", what would be the difference in the colours? how can one knwo what their colour is? Also... Is't possible to build your aura to make it stronger and bigger? how would this help? what would be a purpose of't? How can one build his/her aura?

I could not find many subjects on the matter, and im sure its very important to create a strong aura for many occasions and even for defense against psychic attacks and such.
