No problem DeathStalker, glad to help.
Don't worry about your pace. Magical information is often dense and you can only absorb it so fast. Continue your dream journals and also note down things that seem out of the ordinary in your waking life. I don't know if you should have a separate journal. Maybe one of the others can tell you that. As you continue to weave your thoughts towards magical growth, different aspects of your life will begin to resonate to the energy. These quirks of reality will be important hints as to your path.
If you live in a city with some metaphysical/magical bookstores you may be able to find a group there to work with to teach you some basic techniques, but frankly some of your other interests are a little dark for some new age, angel sighting venues. If you do go to one of these places, test the water before you bare your soul. There's an important lesson that it's never to early to learn in craftwork, don't expose yourself to others needlessly. Treat your magical interests like you would drug habits, have some sense of the audience you are exposing your life to. Here on a forum, it's not as important to be discreet because it's relatively anonymous, but you would be surprised how much you can learn about a name on a forum by googling it. This is an old fashioned sentiment, but there are several good reasons to be guarded around both craftspersons and normals.
Don't despair though! It's easy to learn some basic techniques alone. I recommend that you pick up a copy of Techniques of High Magick by Francis King and Stephen Skinner. It is a good basic text for beginning magicians. It is my belief that the structure is not overly slanted to any given religious viewpoint, but some might disagree. At any rate, it has the basic banishing and invoking rituals for planetary and elemental energies as well as some rituals and guidelines for weapon and talisman construction and consecration, as well as exercises in visualization and other useful things. Take a look at that and pm me back and we can discuss it further if you want. There are lots of other good books and if you prefer another, I'll try to get a copy and work with you on that.
Oh and don't take me as an expert! For all you know I sitting here with a tin foil hat on surrounded by thirty cats. You are on a path of self-determination and you will have to get used to deciding what is right for you.
Talk to you later.
