Not sure if this belongs here:

Does anyone ever having crazy hallucinations during a mental projection? I'm trying to figure out the experience I had the other night during sleep, or presleep or something. Body was paralyzed but mind was fully aware. I could see my room ahead and it was filled with colorful fractal mandala-like visuals. Much like what you would get with a crazy dose of mushrooms or related psychadelic. it was actually kind of scary, i thought there maybe some demonic powers there but then realized that i had full control of the experience. I began to float about the room, but my body was still paralyzed. I floated through many other mandala like tunnels and just crazy trippy ass shit, man....

Any idea what this maybe classified as??

Sounds like a hypnogogic hallucination. See, sometimes right before you actually fall asleep your pineal gland releases tiny amounts of DMT and this causes hallucinations. At certain times it releases much more than normal. I once had a similar experience to your own. I was taking a nap in my school library and I was thinking about going to band practice later. I kept having the recurring experience of my friend coming to wake me up and head over to practice. Finally I felt a prescence touch my shoulder and it felt like i melted into the chair. As this happened I saw a wild psychedellic landscape open before my eyes (which were half open and half closed during the whole experience.) After this I dosed off again to have another dream about actually being at practice, to which I was awakened by my friend. Maybe I got caught in a trans-dimensional mobius loop. Oh well, it was cool, whatever it was. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)
