Just 2 hours ago i was laying down staring into nothing but blank, and it happened again. I see a blue/purple colour that moves around on its on, as'f it has its own mind, and no its not my imagination. I have noticed this when i concentrate into the black of my mind and calm myself, it shows up and is more lucid after a while. What is this? could this colour mean my aura? if not, then what else could it be? because i've(for as long as i remember) seen this whilst in the dark with my eyes closed. Only recently have i thought that it could maybe mean something important.
Also, I realised that after calming myself and staring into the black for about 5-10 minutes, my visualization becomes extremely lucid. For example; i was visualising that i was walking up stairs in a green forest, and the stairs had leaves and trees amongst them. I remembere EVERY detail of how the greens were and every colour, so realistic that I felt i was actually living the time. I also noticed signs on the steps which i did not make up, they just appeared.
Now could i use the same dream analysis techniques and methods to analyze these lucid visualisations i make up? And what are these visualisations? I have noticed getting them after relaxing myself and by not letting other pictures get in my mind. I've not even ever meditated before, so this is just nice.
Try talking to the purple blob, it could be friendly astral fauna, or something more specifically beneficient. Could also be something bad, but i've never met anything malificent that was purple. I guess it depends on what purple means in your symbolic lexicon. It's probably not your own aura, because seeing your own aura is kind of like seeing your own face. (For those opposed, i'm not saying you can't see your own aura, i'm saying you shouldn't have to, it's your aura, you should already know what's going on in it)
Other theories, it could be the leftovers of a spell you did once, still hovering around you in the astral. Could be a spell someone else did, study it, expose it to different types of energy and emotion, and you should get a feel for why it's there and what it interacts with.
As for the second part, congratulations, you're capable of projecting to your inner layer. Astral projection can take you to a wide spectrum of places, but the entire spectrum can be divided into two major headings - Inner Astral and Outer Astral. The Inner astral is the complete sum of the information that your Ego encases, a little personal space in the vastness of the Astral Universe that is strictly you. I suggest that it's your inner space, because if you don't know what you're doing yet, then that's the simplest answer. Getting into the outer astral usually requires some sort of conscious effort, or what you would experience there would be less structured than what you're describing.
Practice going to your inner astral space often, it's really about as limitless as the outer astral, just in different ways. Explore yourself by creating images within that setting which correspond to various parts of yourself. A cave might represent the entrance to your subconscious mind (a network of caves "underneath" the "Landscape" of your psyche, get it?), a great tree might represent your life (think personal tree of life). If you're looking at a foresty type landscape, I would stick with forest symbolism, as you apparently are predisposed towards it.
All sorts of self-transformation can take place on this level, shaping that landscape will take practice to make it permanent, but is a good training ground for travel into the outer astral.
good luck
